great swedish black metal
a good friend of mine introduced me to this band about a week ago
and i have since been listening to them non-stop

formed in '92 they have released 5 albums
Vittra
Diabolical
Sheol
Pariah
Harvest

anyone else heard of these guys?

meh. they are ok. got "Sheol" - loved it at first, but the luster wore off really quickly. they're good at what they do, but don't have the staying power of most the other cd's in my collection, so they had little replay value.

I absolutely adore Naglfar. I had heard of them previously, but I wasn't a huge fan until I had seen them in concert not too long ago. I have been hooked ever since (which tends to happen a lot when I see bands live).

funny, id say they were underrated
but then again, i dont live in sweden
there will always be a better band than another band
but only in personal opinion
me personally
i hate dimmu borgir
and i wouldnt say im starting out either
starting out would be Aaaarrghh
or darkthrone, maybe satyricon

Now this is a band i totally worship .... one of the greatest melodic black metal bands out there. I am huge fan of the very first album 'Vittra'. Some of the bands who never fail to deliver good stuff.

No there's much better bands ins SWe, Armauk, ad so on, I cant tell names because its hard remeber BM band names, so

really average melodic black metal, deserves no attention what so ever. there're scores of bands which are better tbh.

Nothing really special about this band imo. Have a few good relases and those 2 would probably be Diabolical and Sheol

"Harvest" was dissapointing,Sheol is probably their best.
Nothing to unique about them,overall a little boring but they definitly have their own sound and I listen2'em every now and again.

yeah
theyre are much better bands anywhere
which was one of my original points
but this is one of my favourite bands of the genre

like i said, i dont mind it, but, it does frustrate me a bit that their followers call themselves maggots, but only because i dont understand why they do that

nice riffs and semi-catchy.

Ihave one album by these guys and it woiuld be Pariah, it's fairly good, nothing groundbreaking, but very repetitive IMO. They seem to use the same riff patterns over and over again and just change a couple of notes, but that's black metal these days, lacking a little variety.

Anyone know what the hell "Naglfar" means? The band is alright, but the name sounds ridiculous.

Vittra completely blew my mind. Unfortunatley pretty much everything else they've ever released is kind of forgettable. It all sort of blends into the same song...especially on Sheol.

But they're a fun band. They don't take themselves as seriously as most black metal bands. I usually reccomend them as a good starter band for people trying to get into black metal.

Naglfar are great! I love Pariah, it's great, it has no weak songs!!! Harvest is a bit worse but very good tough. To me Sheol is not something so goo das it is mentioned but I like it a bit. Now I'm willing to listen to Diabolical!!!!!

Pariah was fantastic, but I thought Harvest got a bit stale. Anyone know when the next album comes out?

Great band, when are they releasing something new?
