i saw lots psts of you here and lots of you saying u only like first two albums
so let's see which is favorite to others

im so hard to vote cause to me they r all great

No doubt its ''tales Of the 1000 lakes'' because i had explain it many times and there are only 2 Amoprphis albums what i like and those are first and secend but I choose secend becase of title and album cover and musicaly bouth first and secend are great and amazing

I voted for Eclipse , it was the first Amorphis album I bought (I know I do things the wrong way round).
I have got all of the albums from Elegy forward now .

I've heard tracks from the first two albums but haven't liked them enough to buy the whole albums - yet.

Also Eclipse was recommended to me by someone special and will always remind me of him , so it is a special album for me.

This one is easy for me because they have only one album that I like, The Karelian Isthmus. This album was one of the first melodic death metal albums ever made and it is definitely a masterpiece. The vocals are deep and strong, while the guitarists play some nice melodies. It's a shame they really only made one death metal album.

yeah Eclipse is awsome album, i like it alot, but u should start to get some older albums too, maybe u should try with Elegy next

well i hope they relase some new album with some simularity with Tale of the thousend lakes, but only few songs to be simular not whole album, some kind of mix betwen elegy and tales would be gr8

"Talaes From The Thousand Lakes", it's a totally awesome album... it's very unique and atmospheric, vocals are perfect and the whole ambient creates is pretty chilling yet beautiful... "Black Winter Day" is one of those perfect songs.

"Am Universum"
It's theh first album I got. And I loved it. It's so sad, melancholic, yet very relaxing... amazing.

'Am Universum' and 'Far From The Sun' are great, buut, i'l go whit 'Eclipse' it's defenetly theirbest one

But seeing how popular Tales From The Thousend Lakes is - I think I had better buy that soon

Tales Form The Thousand Lakes is what I voted for. Truly amazing melodic music. I don't really know why I like this best though, but I do.

My vote goes to Tales From The Thousand Lakes. A very special album in my collection.

I am holding you responsible for making me spend my children's inheritance on cds.
I have just ordered 'Tales from a thousand lakes' as everyone here seems to think it is the best Amorphis album.
I will let you know my opinion when I have heard it

The Karelian Isthmus, definitly. One of the best Melodic DM albums I've heard, it has absolutly anything I need in an album Too bad this album is overlooked by many.

Tales from The Thousand Lakes is also a unique release, it was my favortie until I heard their debut.

I've heard some songs from the other albums and I must say it wasn't bad at all, I'm not 100 % locked on death metal so I might try some later. Is Eclipse great ?

haha i like it even now, I hear first album and still I like this better and I dont remeber if i post it here or not, but album cover are main reason why i like it better how firts

Oh well I'm not saying I hate it now, I just downranked it by one place

An Universum for me is really THE Amorphis record... Back in the days when it was new, I listened to it quite a lot... if it wasn't for the dumb sax solos it would be one of the best freakin albums of all time... of caurse, there would always be something personal for me in that album... on top of the past I have with lising to it whole lot, in recent days when I had almost forgot about this bands, a really special girl reminded me of it so I started to blast it again and now everytime I listen to it, it reminds me of her and turns me into the little fag I actually am

IMO, one of the most overrated death metal bands out there...

I simply can't understand how that almost droning sound can appeal to people, I for one gave their material a few listens and couldn't bear it... however, to each, his own....

I also think they are overrated, but they aren't death metal. Well, their first album is but everything else isn't.

Since I bought Eclipse I have listen to it a lot. IMO Tomi Joutsen is the best Amorphis vocalist, he manage to sing good on both vocals. Tales.. comes on a very close 2nd. A beautiful album.

@ EddieGunner & everyone - I got 'Tales from a Thousand Lakes' today and I have to agree it's a very good album.

I'll need to listen to it a few more times to decide if it's my favourite or not , but thank you for recommending it.

I suppose I will now have to buy 'The Karelian Isthmus'

im glad u liked TFTL, about Isthmus ain't my fav album but its more deth then Tales so if u prefer deth metal buy it

this is wery hard to decide since i am big Amorphis fan
