Weird story, I don't know if I like it or not. I do love the album though.

Interesting album, with a lot of variety and even some spooky balladry ('Christmas' and 'So Sad'). The only thing i can say negatively here is that King Diamond's vocals prove a little weak, but that's probably an 'age' thing.

Hmm... this album has some decent moments, but overall, it's not really a patch on say, "Abigail" or "Them".

I now rate this above Abigail, which can get too chuggy, sometimes. It's on par with Them and Conspiracy, which I also rate as perfect albums

Undoubtedly his best work since "The Eye", this album blows his post Eye albums out of the water with songwriting and atmosphere. I'd put this in the category of his most under rated work along with Mercyful Fate's Time album.

I share the same regard but it's currently rated at an 8.5 which is pretty darn good.

Oh, I agree with the rating, I just wanted to make sure this album got more of the ass kissing it deserves, always felt it to be a bit under rated, mostly when people say KD never really did anything worthwhile after The Eye- I point to this album, and even House of God as well.

The reason people refer to 'The Eye" as the last album worth having is because well.........it is. He has milked the same album to many times and its boring as shit. When bands take those long hiatuses and 7-8 years later they come back energized sounding fresh again(Exodus:Tempo of the Damned,Immortal:All Shall Fall example). That is a good thing because you can only do so much without just changing the lyrics and playing the same music from the Fatal Portrait, Abigail and Conspiracy era. If you are dropping albums year after year then It just becomes a formula. If King Diamond isn't going to bother with trying different approaches outside of that formula then what you get is an uninspired band playing basically the same thing with each time not as good as before. People get that heard it all before feeling. Newer fans didn't get to hear Abigail when it was fresh out of womb. Those of us that did hear the slope down that began with "Conspiracy" more times than not stopped with "The Eye".

Well first off Tempo and All Shall Fall should not be mentioned in the same breathe when speaking of King Diamond or Mercyful Fate- first because it's a different style of metal altogether and second because they are not in the same league at all. King Diamond is one of the best artists in all metal of all time--- post Bonded by Blood Exodus is a joke, and Immortal hahaha no need for opinions there. Buy anyways, The Puppet Master sounds nothing like the 80s KD classics in structure or in delivery. It is not a rehashed attempt at Abigail in anyway, shape or form. Not quite sure what you're hearing in that regard. Please stay listening to your 2nd tier Bay area groove thrash and your Bathory cloning heroes in Immortal.

You missed my point but I see why LOl. Because your fucking way off but hey I could care less what you think. Did you have "Melissa in 83? No thats right you weren't even alive yet I would guess since I didn't see you at the shows when I was working the King Diamond Abigail/Trouble Run to the Light. Come to think of it didn't see you when my band opened for Flotsam and Jetsam,Cathedral and MERCYFUL FATE. I see you also like Down. Did you make it to any of those? Phil is great guy had a blast with him and Trent Reznor when we went to go see GWAR. Can't remember the name of the restaurant that Zetro,Tom Hunting and myself went to but food was great. What did you order....OHHH you weren't there. Shut up and try to comprehend that I am a fan from the beginning and what I hear is a tired format in which King Diamond has got himself stuck in with hardly any room to create something fresh. Meaning that up to a certain point it was great. Now its going through the motions and I would lay money on the table that I could outline what a new albums formula would be. So you think you can hurt my feelings by making a crack at couple of bands I used as an example? You are the immature dumbass for getting that worked up because I have MY OWN opinion and you yours. If you like Puppet Master go listen to it. I would suggest getting Down:NOLA over Down III:over the under ohh wait you don't like "groove metal" Danzig's first album is also good but ooohhh you don't like wannabe spooky guys. Not any rehashing? Hmm lemme think ......oh yeah. If I am going to catch lighting in bottle twice its gonna have to ride my most well received album's back GOT IT Abigail:2!!! It didn't though because it wasn't good. Done with you...........

King Diamond only uses the same few concepts (ghosts, possession, puppets, Voodoo, etc) over and over. In the end, it's pretty much the same thing each time, only slightly altered. The formula is tired.

Wow. Laughing out Loud at that rambling, incoherent mess you just whipped out of your imagination. Am I supposed to believe any of that nonsense? I suppose you were the agent that signed Metallica on the Kill'em All For One tour as well, and your married to King Diamond's sister, and you taught Randy Rhodes to play guitar, and you do mixed martial arts with Dave Mustaine every weekend, and you gave Bruce Dickinson his pilot's license, and you were the first guy Rob Halford was ever with, etc..etc..
LOL, go back to your fantasy world!!!!
