Umm what?
"Drought" has the sour taste of the inexorable; it is a musical journey through the last moments before disaster hits. This recording displays some of the most lethal song writing ever witnessed from the band while retaining their unmistakable sound
Sounds all right.

I prefer acidly sweets, but sour will do as well.

I've always favoured a kind of irony, meaty taste myself but I'm sure this will do.

There's no such thing as premature ejaculation. Whenever I ejaculate it's right on time, whenever that time may be.

I respect that... but the album hasn't even been released. It's kind of like your mom telling you her new friend is coming over and you blow your load just thinking about her. You don't even know what this girl looks like but you've seen some of your mom's other friends and they're all MILFs.

But the important thing is I shot my load. The where, when, who and how are unimportant =3

Very true. And with DSO you're almost certain to shoot your load regardless so you might as well not even wait to see her. Like every time your mom brings a friend over she's similar to the last girl but still super hot. Maybe the only major difference is hair color or waist size but at the end of the day you know you're still gonna have some great jerk material.

A good analogy. Works for me.

I've listened to that song about 5 times and to me it sounds like a Paracletus cut-off. Messy, forced and generally quite poor by DsO standards.

flow
Funny, that's the exact quality I'd say this song lacks. "Stunted" is what I'd say.

Yea it's the Paracletus-flow, not the one in some of the previous albums. I like this, you like that.
Well I won't be surprised if the new EP is lifeless display of technical showmanship with little substance. Either way we don't have that long to wait to find out.

I doubt it'll be that hollow, but by DsO standards it could very well be.

well, BrainDrill started with enjoyable songs as well (example: Revelation), so it seems like the natural development of technical bands....
anyways, considered Chaining the Katechon a far too sterile song already

some songs from Paracletus
Only some songs, yet you gave it 10/10
Paracletus is what happens when bands get too comfortable at playing their instruments and forget how to write good songs. Katechon retains much of DsO's organic sound, whereas Paracletus completely threw it out the window.

It was orignally released on a compilation/split (which I bought at the time) and later rereleased as stand alone e.p. just like they did with Diabolus Absconditus

The single was kinda misleading, this EP is actually quite nice. The post metal element that everyone noticed in Paracletus is more prominent but don't let that turn you off, DsO's personality is still there and the great thing about it is that it reminds me emotionally of SMR,C

I really apologize if this sounds stupid, but why didn't I get a single riff off the new EP? It's too, too impossible to get into.
