Are you serious? IMO M. Shadows is the worst metal vocalist I've ever heard. I do agree with Halford though. For the New Millenium, I'd go with either Greg Puciato or David Draiman.

Yup. While he is easy to mock, if he wasn't such a distinctive singer it wouldn't be so easy to do so.

All of those plus Matt Barlow. My favorite is Bruce Dickinson.
I suggest you to check out this guy

Yeah, the Lost Horizon guy (I assume it's Daniel Heiman) is pretty great, a "scream" of his has even become a more mainstream internet meme.

100% seriously
Matthew Sanders is a professional in the studio and on stage. His performances are technically perfect, without any instability - everything sounds convincing. Sanders is the only vocalist who fully controls his voice.

Matthew Sanders is the best heavy metal vocalist now days. If you judge him only for the vision of AX7.. You are clearly not objective! Just listen to his live performance, everybody can sing in the studio... but on stage - this man is SOLID!!!
As for the others from the list, I think that only Lemmy doesn't fits.

I too. I've seen them live twice, and while he gets good power in his voice he can be patchy of the high notes. The first time was after the self-titled and the 2nd time was after Nightmare.

Dio, Dickinson and Galfond are pretty much equal to me. Right now I went with Galfond though.

Sorry Halford I meant. Galfond is a poker pro, but I somehow manage to say Galfond instead of Halford sometimes.

Oh, haha. I was wondering who this really good vocalist who I never heard and couldn't find was.

Dio...none can compare! The dude's voice was totally mindblowingly powerful while also being very distinct. There are not many who could match him and I'd be surprised if we ever get another voice like that again in metal.
After Dio I would put King Diamond and since the King makes it onto the list I don't think its a stretch to include Messiah Marcolin there too. Those would be my top 3.

I like both dio and Maiden but Ronnie James Dio can sing both soft and heavy and his voice Was great even before he died. Bruce Was Also a great singer but not so great today considered his prime time in the 80 s

^I hear Dio's voice got even better after he died.
Of the ones on the list, I think I'll pick Halford. I'll also back Rob Rock and Matt Barlow.

In this list I would choose King Diamond. There's so much variety in his vocals. When you pay close attention, you realize that he almost never sings exactly the same from song to song and from an album to another.
But he is also an acquired taste. I know lots of people can't stand him.

I respect all these giants of metal, but my vote is going to the King anyday.

Rob is no.1 without a doubt. Dio and Bruce are close second. Ozzy would be next. I cannot stand King Diamond and UDO definitely doesn't belong in this list. Lemmy is the greatest heavy metal frontman that ever lived and ever will live.
