Way below the previous release.
EDIT: After three listens, downgrade to 6. Without the wow effect the first album had, this one is pretty mediocre.

Yeah, "wow" as in, "wow, what an abomination."
Seriously though, this is better than the debut for sure, and not only in terms of songwriting. The production is much better here, especially with regards to the vocals which no longer sound like they were copy pasted without any regard for the mix. They still stick out like a sore thumb. The cringe... *shudder*

I never thought I'd be saying this but it's surprisingly good...
Honestly, if it weren't for the debut and the band's image I think this album would actually hold up as a legitimate metal release. The J-Pop mash-up gimmick has taken a backseat as there is no longer any trace of the rampant electronica keyboarding found so obnoxiously found on the debut and there's much less use of 'cutesy' vox melodies.
Instead this album is more or less straight up metal with J-pop vox thrown on top. The downside is that means it has much less 'shock value' when you put it on in the car for your friends as musically it sounds not unlike many other contemporary metal artists. But the upside is that it actually passes as an album with some musical integrity. While the first album was simply the gimmick of 'J-Pop meets metal' this album is more 'Anime soundtrack meets power metal' and I don't know about you but I happen to enjoy Anime soundtracks and power metal.

Better than the debut, but somehow I find this japanese way of playing metal utterly irritating. It's "ultra powerful and fluffy". Same problem with Galneryus for me.

By "powerful" I assume you mean "power metal-ish"?

Yep, but bad Power in this case. Everything sounds so pompous and grandiose and nothing really stands out.

I found this album to be almost entirely forgettable and pretty generic. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I really think it could be something special is the cute factor was cranked up. You know, less of >:C !!! And more of <(^~^<) <(^~^)> (>^~^)> <(^~^)>

The previous album was like that from what I can remember.

Very good and with a couple of weak songs again, in the same level of quality of the previous work . Weak songs this time for me are tracks 7 and 10.

This album is nowhere near as bad as a 6, neither is the previous one. The irrational hatred is strong.

I mean, I think both those averages are over exaggerated. I could be wrong since I haven't listened to this album (nor have I personally the intention to, since from what I've heard from them, it's not my cup of tea). But yeah I don't see it being as bad as non-fans are saying, nor do I see it being an album worthy of 8.9/10. But that's just me. Maybe I'm wrong.
I guess these types of bands and albums are typically divisive in nature.

From what I've heard it comes across as around a seven. Not great, but still a pretty solid album.
