Sick album. Just under an hour of melodic black metal bliss. “Let The Beast Run Wild”, “This Night Seems Endless”, and “Requiem” are unbelievable.
Necrophobic with more heavy metal leads = more accessible Necrophobic.

What is the reason to create another "Necrophobic" band? Don't know, because the members of this band decided to do something very similar to Necrophobic, but for some reason, it works very well, and I dare to say this album sounds better than their last album. Perhaps this would be one of the best albums of the year

I'm not sure why this band or this album exists but I'm glad it does.

I could say good things about this album, it's varied, riffs and melodies are fine, vocals are ok, but for some reason didn't work for me. I don't like its pacing, I feel there isn't enough space to breath between songs and the progressions feel clunky. The typical diabolical aura didn't help neither.

Not bad but also not my thing.

Surprisingly, the female voice sampled in the second half of the last song is spoken in Chinese. But overall I'm not interested in melodic black,but the sampling in the song is very creative.

Haunting atmospheres, sinister vocals, and fantastic riff melodies. This basically sounds like a Necrophobic album, and a damn good one at that!

To be honest, given what I had gathered from your taste based on your other comments, that first assessment of yours really baffled me. I could not understand how you could not like this. The mood is important, I guess, it happens to me too. But I always give an album 3 listens (like gavdann) if it belongs to a genre I like and others praise it, even if I don't like it at first encounter. I am listening to this once a day because I will review it, and I appreciate it more and more after each play.

Yeah, in fact I felt kinda weird after the first listen because everything indicated it was a great album. Listening to it right after work, tired and willing to get home, was probably a bad idea. That's why I decided to check it again and wow, it felt like a totally different album. 5 spins after it's still growing!

House rule: never listen to new music after work

Loved this album. They might loose some points for originality but it must also be noted when a known style is well executed and In Aphelion definitely nailed it. The atmosphere is awesome, the melodies and riffs are well composed and the vocals fit perfectly.

I ended unplanned my 2021 metal album year whit Thyrathen - ThanatOpsis, what was unplanned as Nik recommendation from review. It's still early from this year, and another unplanned Nik recommendation... Good rapid guitar driven sound, good lyrics, I like it. I love my north cold, this winter seems endless

Sounds like an exact continuation of Necrophobic's last two albums. I'm not complaining!

What else to be expected from the very same musicians behind Necrophobic, other than a masterpiece?......Nothing less than that. Aoty contender for me.

Easy MBM AOTY right here. It's probably my overall AOTY tbh as I've been going back to it time and time again. It's between this and Panzerfaust for my most played album of 2022.
