While this album may not be timeless, it does prove to be a remarkable addition to the current goth/melodic death doom scene. Smatterings of post-rock, black metal, and even some grunge are welcome as the band weaves in and out of genre expectations. The peaks are very high, and the valleys are pretty low on this record. Some of the songs feel unnecessary. My hats off to them for trying a diverse range of vocals, but some of the cleans don't do it for me. They sound very out of place. I give this one a hard 8.8.

It sounds closer to the melodeath/symphonic death sound of Divine Revolution that Dominia had when I first encountered them, particularly compared to the years since Theophania where they went full gothic metal. Not sure I'd even count it as gothic metal anymore; I wonder if it's a 'return to roots' with so much band member upheaval in the past couple of years. It doesn't stand out in the way Divine Revolution did, but it's cool to see them go in this direction again
