Dramatic improvement over the last record. It's great.

I just can't seem to get into this band, although I definitely do prefer this album to their previous I must say.

I wonder if there was blowback to their previous album that caused them to revert back to the heavier prog-metal with the harsh vocals. It seems a bit less bloated than the self-titled, and is generally decent, but also it's a bit short on the great moments that made them worth listening to (of which there were a few on the s/t scattered among the excess). Whatever they managed to capture on Winter (and partially on The Banished Heart) still isn't quite there here.
