My favourite subgenres are probably Black Metal, Death Metal and Folk Metal (influenced by other genres or not). Black Metal because of the atmosphere it creates, it creates an intense atmosphere with an incredible musicality. Death metal because of the technique of the musicians and the feeling of anger that i possess when i listen to it. And folk metal because it's powerfull and funny, seriously, i love listen to folk metal while i'm drinking alcohol or when i'm with a girl...

It has to be Doom for me  Specifically Black/Doom, Death Doom & Funeral Doomafter that i'd say Death Metal, closely followed by Black Metal & then Progressive. I have an appreciation for nearly all metal genres though & have bands i really like from each genre.

For me: 1- Power Metal 2- Symphonic Metal but there isn't Symphonic Metal so I choose Gothic Metal it's most similar genre 3- Doom Metal 4- Black Metal

Most stuff that mixes genres in the 'melodic' section, though I don't have anything against harsh vocals. I picked prog, there is only a few prog bands which I dislike...and the most ones I like are in the genre too.

I voted for Death Metal. My favorite subgenres of death metal are technical and progressive death metal. I can't get enough of the speed, technicality and precision required to play technical death and I love the complexity and technical skill as well as the different layers and techniques displayed in progressive death metal.
