One of the best albums released thus far in 2022. Great Japanese influenced metal comes from... Czechia Now I'm just waiting for nikarg's review which I assume is coming

Et Moriemur are an acquired taste, especially due to the vocals that many cannot get into. Even though Epigrammata remains my favourite album by them and I consider it to be a modern death doom masterpiece, this is another top-tier album in the style.

The review of AMG is just ridiculous and not because the reviewer didn't like it but because the second paragraph of the review reveals how little they researched the album. Apart from that, the comparison to A Dead Poem-era Rotting Christ is more off the mark than Roberto Baggio's penalty miss in 1994. The line "I’ve heard more exciting music while grocery shopping" is just vile and unjustified. It makes me want to register just to post the comment "I've read washing machine instructions more interesting than this review", but I don't want to start a beef with AMG. It's a shame because they are usually respectful and their reviews are generally accurate but this one is just wrong on every level.

Unfortunately, I haven't got the time to do it but I hope someone else from the team picks it up.

I had to read the AMG review and I totally agree with you guys.

"For starters, the band utilizes the shakuhachi, a traditional bamboo flute that channels thoughts of winds blowing through cherry blossom trees and quiet moments of reflection. However, it’s only heard on a few tracks, mostly on instrumental opener “Haneda,” where it drives the somber mood brought forth via piano melodies. Also, every song title on here is in Japanese, and they all seem to be named after real (“Otsugi,” “Nagoya”) or fictitious places (“Takamagahara”) in Japan. And… that’s literally it. That’s about as deep Et Moriemur goes with their inclusion of Japanese themes and influences."

This whole paragraph is just off the rails. Either he didn't listen to the album or he doesn't know what Japanese music or instruments sound like because you have a lot of typical Japanese instrumentation in all of the songs. But I guess he must think that all Japanese music sound like this.
So if you're not doing the review someone else here will have to do it and actually listen to the album first and write a proper one.

Such a unique album, it's a mix of atmospheric doom, with black and death metal influences, and with an oriental folk inspired theme. It takes a bit to get going from the slow opening song, but that's intended to draw you into the atmosphere. There are some moments of beautifully crafted music along the way. And I think the album is just the right length personally, it hasn't fallen victim Of being too drawn out.

I look at the clouds and I see an 'R' projected in a circle.

What a great album. Loved epigramata, loved this one too. The piano melodies are too good to be true. The creativity in this album is unparalleled. Such a unique sounding album.

Interestingly I found Epigrammata to start wonderfully, but drag a little bit towards the end. This one on the other end starts a bit too soft for me, and I would have skipped the rest if I didn't know the band, but the last track is absolutely wonderful and left me with a great impression of the album. I will come back to it for sure.
