I'll have to confess that when I first heard Fear Factory's latest album "Transgression", I was more than just a little disappointed. As time went on, I learned to appreciate it more and although it is far from a masterpiece, at least it is a collection of tracks made by a band that does not feel comfortable with recording the same album over and over again.

I love this band but this album is pretty bad, the guitar and the bass sucks and the drumming is not so good.
Best songs:54000 degrees farhenheit, contagion and supernova ( the rest of the album sucks)

I don't think this album is as bad as everyone makes out to be honest, but at the same time it's one of the weaker records in their discography. The one thing which stands out to me from "Transgression" is its variety, there more of that at least than there was on "Archetype". It doesn't always work to the band's advantage, but songs like 'Echo of my Screams' and 'Supernova' (the latter of which reminding me of 80s post-punk) really prove the band still had talented songwriting in their system. It's a shame that half of the album is fairly monotonous, leaving the other half (mainly songs from the last 20-30 minutes or so) to make up for it. Better than fans would have you believe I think, but also not exactly an ideal FF record.

This album is undeniable proof of the downward spiral of the fear factory's musicianship and musicality.
