Emerging from a decade of turmoil that would destroy lesser bands, Slipknot have kept moving forward despite setback after setback, We Are Not Your Kind is the end product of this defiance, to overcome rather than stop. Slipknot is getting worse and worse the more time passes. This is probably their worst album yet. They keep going in the wrong direction and becoming more and more "popmetal" as time goes by.

Their worst album to date imho, it lacks the heaviness and aggression of their previous albums, and it's also lacking groove and interesting riffs. There is nothing special about the songwriting material either, I think it's just lacking that bit of inspiration. I think they have opted for a softer approach, which imo doesn't suit them that much, the upside to it is that Corey makes more use of his clean, softer vocals, which I actually quite like to hear. As for songs I found hardly any that stand out for me, unlike the rest of their discography, which I can find at least 2 or 3 quality songs on an album. If I had to pick stand out songs, which is difficult, I would say "Unsainted" and "Orphan" aren't all that bad.
