plus, if one's worrying about the language... well, um, practice makes perfect, right? reading books is one of the best ways how to improve your knowledge in any language.

Account deleted Written by 3rdWorld on 16.12.2016 at 06:47 it has typical elements of western movies, like shootings and stuff, but I would say it is almost empty of any eye candy. Also, it is close to TD in a sense that it is heavy on metaphors about the life and existence. I still have not finished the first season, but I think it would be one of these shows with a lot of different philosophical interpretations.

Rather liked Max Landis' show based upon Douglas Adams' "Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency" and The Rowdy 3 are awesome.

^Have bumped into it on Netflix and was planning to watch it soon. I had no idea Max Landis was involved though. Can't decide whether that makes me curious or worried. Also, Amazon Prime Video has become available in Belgium recently. Went ahead and signed up for the 30-day trial and oh my good god it sucks balls. I thought Netflix's catalogue was pathetic, but this is even worse. Probably gonna binge The Man In The High Castle and then cancel my subscription immediately afterwards. There is just no (affordable) competition for illegal downloading.

Started with Bojack Horseman after finishing Rick And Morty. It's not bad at the beginning but not great. Even though I keep watching because I've been told that the best is yet to come once I reach season 2. True Detective Season 1 is the shit. Boardwalk Empire is one of the best things I saw this year along with Diamond Is Unbreakable and the second season of Rick And Morty.

Ok I didn't have to wait until second season for Bojack Horseman to get awesome, I'm on episode 8 and the quality just got over the roof. It's not funny, it's incredibly heartbreaking. I can't believe how depressing this show is. Holy shit.

Yeah, I've watched the entirety of BjH twice now and I'd say it starts getting really interesting around episode 5 or 6. The first few are necessary to get familiar with the characters though, and upon rewatching them (and already knowing the characters) those episodes actually become better.

Finished Hannibal S03 finally. I had put in on hold after completing season 2 when NBC cancelled it last year as it was the one of the worst news for me personally considering how much I loved it as a show and its visual richness. So both a compliment and a middle finger to NBC. Compliments for airing such an incredibly artistic and visually stunning show but fuck you for cancelling it in the wake of low ratings. I have to say the final season is the least eventful and least violent of all the three but still the visuals are on par with what you get from the two earlier seasons. The Red dragon character is particularly really well made and Richard Armitage does a pretty neat job on it. Sad that Hannibal gets very very less screen time on this season and especially the last few episodes but anyway it was a stellar and the final post-credits scene is stunning in the last episode. I don't think anyone has the balls and affordability to revive this but would be best thing in the fucking world to see this show back to life.

Finished WestWorld in a few days and I must say it's one of the finest sci-fi shows in recent memory (apart from Black Mirror I can't think of anything of this caliber actually.) It gives you enough to think about with each episode and the story itself was full of surprises. Also, Anthony Hopkins was a treat to watch. Apparently it's his 79th birthday today so all the more impressive. One of those rare shows that deserves the hype.

12.01.2017 - 08:42 Written by Zap on 18.12.2016 at 18:26 Not a Max Landis fan in general, he's appeared on Red Letter Media a couple times and is more annoying than amusing. Show is good, though. Watched the 1st season of Man in the High Tower while on vaca back in the States with my wife's parents AP account. Love the show, not sold on the service. And if you think Netflix Belgium is bad, Paraguay (or Argentina, which I think we get by extension) is worse. When my VPN works, I bounce around USA, Canada, and other countries to take in what they have. When just PY, running out of things to watch after 2.5 years with it playing in the background while I work.

12.01.2017 - 18:57 Written by BitterCOld on 12.01.2017 at 08:42 Haha, I could never decide what I thought of him when he was with Mike and Jay. It was cool of him to actually appear on RLM though, especially after they bashed one of his movies. As far as Netflix is concerned, I was actually subscribed to the Argentine version when I was staying there for half a year and it was loads better than Belgium's Netflix, and my roommate also preferred it to the one from the US (at the time Netflix wasn't even available in Belgium yet, it only started here in 2015 I think, after all our neighbours had had it for years) Of course a lot might have changed since then, that I don't know.

Completed Parks and Recreation seasons 4, 5 and 6. The fifth and most of sixth are a chore to sit through. Everything beyond the fourth season is superfluous. The episode where counterparts for each of the member from other town is introduced is one of the worst and one of the character introduced there is even sustained for further episodes. That along with the Jean Ralphio and his sister are the crappiest in the entire series and make Jar Jar Bink look a billion times more worthwhile to the story. Also finished The IT Crowd till season 4. Richard Ayoade is incredible in it. Worth watching just for him. My other two favorites were Denholm Reynholm and Richmond. I really would've preferred a lot more scenes from Denholm as he was an absolute laugh in the early seasons and was quite sad to see how his character was written off. But thankfully the second boss character was funny as hell too so it wasn't that much of a loss tbh. Definitely not as funny as The Office and not much IT related jokes too but still an excellent watch this one.

Currently watching The Crown and loving it so far. For some reason, I thought I wouldn't like it but it surprised me. Also watching Supergirl. Tried it even though I'm not a big fan of superhero shows generally, but ended up enjoying it as well.

Marvel's Daredevil S02 Guess I forgot to post but I finished the season 2 of Marvel's Daredevil. Definitely not as solid and consistent as S01 but the netflix magic works again. The show really heats up once Elektra comes in and she is probably the usp of this season, I would say even more than Punisher. Would love to see her own show. Daredevil himself and Foggy's characters are not as well written as in the last turnout and it was quite disappointing tbh, same problem with the drug syndicate villains. My favorite part of the whole season was when Kingpin was appeared though, Vincent D'Onofrio is still impeccable as ever and plays the character to laser precision. If you are fan of the marvel shows, it is worth watching just for how well they have portrayed Kingpin.

Been happy to just watch historical documentaries on Youtube as of late, though watching the absurd Last Man On Earth with the mrs. Incidentally, not filmed in Tucson, though it does look pretty similar.

Finished S01 of Westworld, average show, I was disappointed. That whole season can't even compare to one episode of Black Mirror (S03 especially). Written by Paz on 02.03.2017 at 16:02 Bron is a great series indeed.

Continuing with The Grand Tour, it is actually pretty good from the fourth episode onwards. The Enviro-mental episode was particularly really good and felt a lot more natural than their usual overtly scripted and TG idea rehashes.

27.05.2017 - 21:35 Written by Paz on 24.05.2017 at 08:35 100 % agreed. I am so glad that Lynch was and is intelligent enough not to bank much on nostalgia, instead he's created a mix of a little old, a lot of new and 100% Lynchian. I fucking love the 2017 Twin Peaks so far, it is downright glorious.
