Funeral are, per Solitude Productions, a cult doom metal band hailing from Norway. They were around way back in the day when My Dying Paradise Anathema were doing their thing. To Mourn Is a Virtue is a limited run release of demos and recordings made by the band between 1996 and 2004. The recordings were lost/disappeared/shelved for as long as 15 years before they were remastered in 2010 and, finally, released this year.

A great collection of songs from the various periods of band's history recorded with three different vocalists. Each vocalist's voice fits music perfectly, and riffs and leads, while may not be groundbreaking, still succeed in conveying the emotions of sadness and grief spread throughout the album. Now I get the feeling that to mourn is definitely a virtue... If you're mourning with Funeral, that is.

Concept One
Let's say, this album is out of time in their discography! And the Demo 97 vocals are quite better! The second half is decent though
