Bands that choose to take literary works as the thematic inspiration behind their music can tend be pretty hit or miss. It's an interesting idea, this fusion of artistic mediums, but it's not always executed in a way that makes the music feel relevant to the writing. Fortunately, BM Frenchies The Great Old Ones are proving this year that they know very well how to do just that, and they're doing H.P. Lovecraft proud yet again.

You tired, Joe?

Haha, not really. Don't have an excuse for that one. Just yesterday it took me about 30 seconds to figure out how to spell "were" as I kept thinking it was "where" for some reason.

Dude... give it a 10!

Only 3 albums deserves a perfect score imo. It would be 9 if the other songs were as great as "Behind The Mountains"

The album is not perfect but then again what is. Still, I get more enjoyment out of it then of most albums so it has to be 10. Havent heard a band who master the dissonant stuff as good as these guys tbh.

I'm fine with your rating. There's no need for an explanation.

This album is so good that I'll likely never read the source material since it will never live up to this.

A Real Mönkey
This and the debut are sheer masterclasses in atmoblack. It’s genuinely difficult to decide whether this one or the debut is the best, but I think I prefer the debut for being a bit more atmospheric.
