I have a question:

If one "witnessed" a newish member rapidly post in multiple threads (a post a minute or so, for an extended time) and felt that this together with the "quality" of the posts indicated that the main purpose of this was to drive up post count in a hurry, would this be considered spam here on MS?

(Sorry if the answer is obvious - I'm new here and a bit unsure of what is accepted and what is frowned upon.)

Yes, if you see something like this you can click on the "report to mods" button on one of the threads, tell us his username and we'll look into it.

Now, my question, to mods, really. I changed my avatar yesterday, but sometimes on my posts the avatar is the old one and not the new one. Is that like a bug or something? Because also, when I changed it, I had to do it twice, because the first time it didn't work

No, this is just your cache memory. If it happens again, hold Ctrl and then press F5.

Why do some bands have two genres listed as their style (f.e. Persuader is listed as both Heavy and Power), while other have a combination of those genres as their style (f.e. Sabaton is listed as Heavy Power, or Nocturnal Rites, labeled Power Heavy)?

It depends how much of a style the band plays. If they have two styles then they play both about 50-50, but if they have one as their "core" style and one as a prefix then it's more "prefix influences ___ metal".

I just wondered whether the (perceived) lack of uniformity was due the need of subtle genre differentiation, or a matter of personal preference of the person(s) that added the band. Well, that and the fact that every Iced Earth album counts as two (one as Heavy, one as US Power) in my collection.

Why is the "MS Top 100 list" changing so quickly and so rapidly over time? I understand people are changing their opinions and new people come here and vote, but there are hundreds of votes for most of the albums in top, why is the order changing so much then?

This must surely be the question i cant sleep during nights because of thinking about it

It's probably because they're all so close just one vote of 1 or 10 could tip the balance.

Well thats what i find strange...with 500 - 1000 votes, one other vote shouldn't be such a difference

Ok about news, if in bands myspace page blog is posted in nativ langauge not english, but its translated whit google langauge tools does such news will eb accepted?
I talk about Cemetery Of Scream news what Im subbmited and tranlate whit lanaguage tools.

That translation was awful. If it wasn't for 5 Polish live dates, I would have rewritten the text, but...

If a band wants to be worth anyone's time, I'm sure they'll post updates in English.

If a band posts an update in Polish announcing five Polish live dates, that's fine for them, as they'll probably reach their target audience with such an update anyway. But they can't expect anyone outside Poland (let alone an international metal webzine) to bother - which isn't their intention with this update in the first place. Simple as that.

I have seen in news fiew Russian dates like news, who cares about them , and Ellorhir might be wright because many Czceh bands who's on datebase might not update much in english like SSOGL for example

I rather meant Russian or Ukrainian folk/black metal bands...they dont even post in greek alphabet and even their songs are named and tagged with cyrillic only...
