Depressive black metal
Oct 11, 2010
The album responsible for keeping me sane during my month-long absence from Metal Storm due to internet connectivity issues.

Art this depressive truly helps put "real life" and one's priorities into perspective.

Still awaiting Apocalypse In Your Heart (tentatively set to be released in 2010, though it's beginning to look more like 2011 will set the stage for its unveiling).

My ISP better get back to me before then...

I'm not that into depressive BM, but from the first track I wanted to cut my veins. Great songs, great orchestration, great delivery of feelings. We want more. ;-)

I honestly don't understand the praise this album gets.
After 2 listens now it still seems like a perfectly average DSBM release. God knows waaay too many of those exist already. "Enlightment" is a sweet song. The rest... just boring.

I won't say it's boring, but my expectations were certainly quite high when I first listened to it =P

I remember this all the way back from when Troy first picked it in 2010 because of what he wrote in the staff pick. Couple of surprises though.

1. Joe's thumbs up for a dsbm record.
2. This album/band not appearing on no one's dsbm list, the go-to list for dsbm in this site I'd say. Seems he hasn't even commented on this.

Things aside, I wanna check this out now.

Of all albums under the DSBM category this one hits me the hardest most, and the songs "Enlightment", "Mighty Black Dimensions", and "Total Self-Hatred" above all.
