Epica - First Part Of New Album Studio Documentary


Epica have presented the first part of the studio documentary of The Quantum Enigma. The documentary gives a behind the scenes look at the recording process of the band's sixth studio album that will be released in May through Nuclear Blast. It also previews the first music from the upcoming album. Don't miss out on the chance to listen to the first new material below.

The band recorded The Quantum Enigma together with the producer Joost van den Broek at the Sandlane Recording Facilities in The Netherlands. The album has been mixed by Jacob Hansen (Volbeat, Hatesphere).

    For me, Epica have always released either superb, or above average records. I do wish, however, they'd vary their style a little bit, like the performance on Consign To Oblivion, where the bombastic style was toned down; that was a brilliant album.
    Nevertheless, I'm looking forward to this a lot.

    Good thing about this is that it sounds better than Requiem For The Indifferent. I hope the album as a whole is better than their last, for me it was their least entertaining album.

    Ugh, at times the album sounds like the new ReVamp, which would be OK except for the fact that we know that Epica is better than that. Other times it sounds a bit "poppy" and not unlike Within Temptation. Much anticipation, they did not deliver for me.

    Why can't they just write Design Your Universe 2.0?
