Irreversible - Release Final Album And Disband

Sad news for post-metal fans all over the world; Irreversible have decided to lay their arms to rest. However, they decided to release a final, self-titled album (out on April 20th), so it is not all tears. Below is the message from their Facebook page. The album can be downloaded for name-your-price at their Bandcamp page where you can also listen to it.

Irreversible explained: "In its final incarnation, Irreversible releases its terminal self-titled album. As a kind of 'summary work,' this 45-minute recording recapitulates the best of Irreversible, pulling influence from each previous release. Longtime friend Kevin Bolen was brought in as second guitarist, incorporating his knowledge of the band's dynamics to help bring closure to the project. Tracked, mixed and mastered by the original bassist CJ Ridings, with some production help from the band, the songs are 100% DIY while sounding nothing like a DIY production. As Irreversible lays to rest its ten-year musical career - obscure, resilient, and unfamed - this album is a beautiful eulogy and appropriate tombstone for the seven albums and ten members that helped give the Atlanta metal scene an unprecedented psychedelic influence."

Sad to hear. I liked Irreversible.

But I still have to check out this self-titled effort. Maybe it will be really decent.

Yeah, I liked them too, and their album covers! Will be checking this album out as well.

This last album is good, in my opinion even better than Surface, lining up to review it once it's eligible to guest reviewers. Good luck to them with whatever they do next
