Hi,

Could You suggest a folk band (sub-genre irrelevant) without growling?

I like metal bands with women, but hate it when they're interrupted by annoying growling, which often feels out of place for me.

I'd prefer bands with addition of some interesting instruments thrown in the mix, I also like accoustic guitars. So far, I havan't found a band fitting these criteria.

Interesting, I found their album - a double album with gentle/storm versions. It's not metal however. But interesting on the first listen. I'm using Tidal, haven't found Percival. Thanks!

Try Lumsk, Falkenback (about half the songs are clean), Darkest Era, Crimfall (about half and half, I think, could be wrong), Tyr (I don't like them, myself) and Some of Wilderun. Lumsk would be the best of these for your criteria.

Might want to try Falconer as well. They're a bit different, but they fit your criteria.

What folk as it gets tricky here Try
- Feuerschwanz, Krayenzeit, In Extremo ( German folk )
- Kalevala, Melnitsa ( Russian folk metal, Melnitsa is more like rock folk ). There is an old Kalevala band from Finland, the ones I quote are russians. Check out the songs Son-reka and Ladushka and you'll learn how to distinguish them
- Falconer, many songs of Elluveite ( celtic )
- Fejd - the older albums ( norse )

You may like the plain folk of norse bands like Fejd ( newer albums ), Hedningarna, Garmarna, Värttina, Steinun Potirsdottir due to their darker sound

What about Korpiklaani? Much of interesting instruments thrown in to mix and semi clean vocals.

Well the latest Dalriada album, 'Áldás' only has growling in one song, the others are some beautiful singings, so you might want to check out that.

Glad to see Kalevala is recognised and mentioned ♥ Who would like to see them touring in Europe?

Try Skyclad. Arguably the first folk metal band but still one of the best I think. Good albums to start with are "Vintage Whine" and "The Answer Machine?". Also if you like acoustic sound, try the semi-unplugged "No Daylight Nor Heeltaps" which consists of "pub versions" of earlier songs. All in all a great band, with genius lyrics to boot.

I know its an old post but have you heard the Swedish folk metal band Utmarken? No female vocalist but they use a Keyed Fiddle or "Nyckelharpa" in Swedish wich is pretty cool
They just released a new video:

Saw those guys live yesterday, they were the best band on the bill imo:

They're playing instrumental folk viking metal (involving copious amounts of Belgian beer gotta say )
