After a true masterpiece with the album "Midian", the English kings of black metal are back with an album, which was actually supposed to be an EP. It ended up, however, with a total length of nearly 50 minutes, with one cover of the Sisters Of Mercy Classic "No Time To Cry" included and in the enhanced version a part of a video clip and an advertisement of the horror film "Cradle Of Fear" (It is totally sick, I assure you, but it is only available through www.cradleoffear.com), staring the guys from the band. There are some re-mastered versions of songs from the classic debut "Principles Of Evil Made Flesh" too.
The production is a real killer. The sound is perfect, the intro is enchanting and is a good introduction to the rest of the album, full of atmosphere. You can hear every small detail and enjoy the album fully by looking through the booklet, including some phenomenal artwork, painted with absolute precision and mastered with the help of our old friend the computer.
How about the style of music of the band, well it is absolutely amazing. After eight years of existence, the band has always been evolving steadily, making every album very different from its predecessor and achieving their own style with the last albums. In fact every next album by Cradle Of Filth is better than the previous one. Well "Bitter?" is no exception. It is very heavy and technical, Dani's vocals this time going further than his typical evil-bat-from-Hades screeches and has added a nearly death metal sound to it. It is all really very brutal and heavy, but the guys have managed to make it a good combination with the very technical style of theirs. It is a record worth listening and it is surely extremely valuable for any Cradle fan. Enjoy it!

The songs from "The Principle Of Evil Made Flesh" here are not re-mastered at all. They're re-recorded. "Summer Dying Fast" has a new riff before the second verse and a completely different outro. "The Principle Of Evil Made Flesh"'s Latin passage is replaced by an English translation and instead of having a woman recite the words it is in fact Dani who is speaking this part. "The Black Goddess Rise II" is a suitable title because unlike the original the keyboard intro has been omitted in favor of the song just beginning... I do believe the middle part is different here as well. Although I love the originals of these songs in all of their necro splendor, the re-vamped versions are nice to hear as well. Just clearing that up.

In the tracklist that i've seen, the name of the fourth song is ''Summer Dying Faster'' (not ''Fast'')... anyway.. this album its pretty boring to me, but when it comes to CoF its better not to trust my opinion, cause my fav albuns from this band are the hated's Thornography and Nymphetamine  ... and i dont really care much about gothic or black/gothic metal.The best songs are ''The Black Goddess Rises II'' (with a nice epic and melodic part, great female vocals) and ''Scorched Earth Erotica'' (good guitar solo and keyboard sequence).
