Thrash Metal Revival 🤘🏼 2000-2021

At the end of the ‘80s, Thrash metal’s popularity began to decline. Those five or ten years of success were destined to fade, leaving only a handful of popular bands like Metallica, Slayer, Overkill, Kreator, Testament, Megadeth, Anthrax, and a few others to survive.

The reasons for this decline were varied. The rise of Glam Metal and the dominance of Grunge certainly played a role. Personally, I’ve always thought Pantera’s growing popularity had an impact too. But the truth is, the world seemed to grow tired of the genre’s lack of originality, as many new bands offered little innovation.

Over the years, metalheads began to feel a sense of emptiness and nostalgia. The mid-’90s brought horrendous releases from the once-great Thrash bands: Metallica’s Load, Reload, and St. Anger; Slayer’s Diabolus in Musica; Anthrax’s Volume 8; and similarly disappointing efforts from Megadeth, Kreator, Forbidden, and others. Meanwhile, the market became oversaturated with bands from subgenres like Agro Metal, Technical Death Metal, Extreme Metal, and Nu Metal.

This was the perfect storm for the second coming of Thrash Metal, which began to take shape around 2000–2010 and continues to this day, filling that void of emptiness and nostalgia for fans of the genre.

Don't forget Misleading Evil by Hazzerd

Alongside Witches Hammer and Raider, they're helping put Canadian thrash back on the map and proving our quality extends well beyond the likes of Annihilator

Canadian Thrash Metal has a great History starting with the Speed Metal of Exciter in the early 80’s, after that Voivod, Sacrifice, Annihilator, Razor. For me the golden era of metal in Canada, Continues with Death metal bands like Quo Vadis, Martyr and Gorguts.
Then I felt that Canadian Thrash has a late reaction in the Thrash Revival scene with bands like Droid, Terrifier, Metalian, Hazzerd I think Witches Hammer are a Death Metal band than a thrash band same as Raider very good Death Metal from Canada and obviously they are a great contribution in the Canadian metal Scene 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼

Maybe because the band name is Shrapnel?

Also, 4 arm is 4Arm.
