You know the drill, we do not have much in common (bar Immolation) for this year. The highlights for me would be Dream Theater's and Arcturus' respective releases, both of which I love. But Bathory, Carcariass and The Dillinger Escape Plan all released great stuff as well. Add to that Ron Jarzombek, Meshuggah, Mastodon, Botch and Korum and you get yourself a really nice year.

3. Agalloch - The Mantle.
4. Sirenia - At Sixes And Sevens.
5. Xasthur - Nocturnal Poisoning

Hey I gave Meshuggah an honourable mention. I should probably check out Bathory’s later stuff I just prefer the earlier Black Metal albums.

Just out of curiosity if you like Immolation is there a reason you don’t also like Nile or even Behemoth considering the stylistic connections?

May I ask if your lists will be continued? Is 2003's list still in the making?
