Wow , thats the news

I was just listening to Mirror Reaper yesterday wondering if they would do something like this again. Holy shit.

I pre-ordered it on Bandcamp and I can't wait for tomorrow!

85 minutes beauty and depression. Yes, it's too long, but that's the whole point.

Yeah this is an easy 9/10 and contender for AOTY. Very much looking forward to the other 2 parts

It's too early for me to judge the music, but the cover art work s astonishingly good.

Not too excited for this. Their first 2 full lengths are some of my favourite music, but Mirror Reaper is just such a slog because of that gimmicky >80min runtime. There are really great moments in it, but those could also be in a 20min song no problem. Need to take some vacation to listen to this one, ig

When I opened ms news, I thought it will be EP like 30 minutes, but 86 it's super long. I still love this band, good funeral doom, great piece.

I've finally managed to listen all the way through this album/song in one sitting, it's definitely been one of the most challenging albums for me to get through this year. I can understand funeral doom isn't an easy genre to get into for everyone, occasionally I find an album of this genre fascinating, this album on the other hand just isn't working for me.

I like the atmospheric/slow burn style concept, reminds me of Moonsorrow's longer songs. Unfortunately it's a little too much for me at times, funeral doom has never been a large interest of mine. A little more variation in its runtime would go a long way.

Gotta agree. The album should have finished at the end of the second movement around the 45 minute mark.

I can understand funeral doom isn't an easy genre to get into for everyone, occasionally I find an album of this genre fascinating, this album on the other hand just isn't working for me.

While I have an appreciation for drone and doom genres, and I must admit that Fvnerals' album "Let The Earth Be Silent" has stood out as one of the top releases this year for me, I find myself in complete agreement with Andy's sentiments regarding this particular album. At first glance, the artwork and title exude a mystical and occult aura, which immediately piqued my curiosity and raised my expectations. Unfortunately, my experience with the album fell short of what I had hoped for. Despite my initial enthusiasm, it felt like a rather average funeral doom offering, with the occasional enjoyable moments few and far between.

Regrettably, the album failed to take me on the captivating and immersive journey I had anticipated. Instead, it maintained a consistently flat and slow pace throughout, leaving me longing for more. I will say that the final 15 minutes of the album offered a glimpse of brilliance and was quite enjoyable, however, the disappointment of having to endure for over an hour before reaching this satisfying conclusion rendered the overall experience underwhelming for me.

I dunno if I'd call it gimmicky, but I get what you mean. This was a pretty enjoyable listen, and I dug Mirror Reaper a lot too when it came out, but I'd say I still prefer Longing and Four Phantoms to these massive slabs. 15 - 20 minute Bell Witch tracks are still ideal in my book. I wonder if we'll ever get any again?

The second half really elevates the album. Really interested to see what part 2 and 3 brings out here. For a funeral doom album this was a very easy listen for me.

Absolutely monumental record again. The synths/organs are really effective and the second half is actually surprisingly uplifting. Challenges Mirror Reaper for me.
