Lindy-Fay Hella interview (12/2021)

With: Lindy-Fay Hella
Conducted by: RaduP (video)
Published: 05.12.2021

Lindy-Fay Hella is most well-known as the co-vocalist of Wardruna, but she started to branch out recently with a solo album, 2019's Seafarer, which included a bunch of collaborators. She followed that up by assembling Dei Farne and creating Hildring, continuing to develop that darkwave neofolk sound. I wanted to know a bit more about that, partly because I had no idea how to add the Lindy-Fay Hella profile (and that's still prone to changes), and partly due to loving Wardruna, but also sometimes you just wanna know what music do plants listen to.

Hildring was released on the 26th of November 2021 through By Norse Music.

I am on a must-watch-all-these-Radu-interviews mode. This is one I enjoyed quite a bit, in the beginning she seems reserved and even taken aback by your straightforwardness and insistence (I am sure she will check out OM). But after a while she loosened up and the interview became more interesting. I cannot believe she didn't remember that she sang on the latest MDB album or that Music For The Masses was just after Black Celebration... and I thought that I am forgetful, it helps to see there's worse around

Also, Radu, no BM bands from Bergen off the top of your head?

Not my fault that Bergen is not as massive of a black metal city as Timisoara.
