To be fair, I didn't manage to listen to the whole album in one turn (also because my tram commute only takes half an hour), but it seems that this isn't intended either way, as the album is released on two CDs. The music is mostly slow and dragging with mid-boosted guitars, a heavy bass and drums. Basically what one would expect from a stoner and doom mixture. The vocals sound even more stoned and bring in some interesting harmonic variations, like heard in the chorus of the title track, "Flesh Throne Press", for example.
This very lengthy album is a nice representation of stoner guitar work and vocals. However, some people will find it boring as there is not much variation, yet after some listening one gets drowned in this psychedelic feeling and even after you put your player aside, some songs still stay in the head, spinning around and crying for you to pick up the music again. But, of course, this takes some time and not all people will be patient and Pombagira's music will stay inaccessible. That's why it's hard to classify the music as good or bad, but I think most fans of the genre will appreciate it.
As the band already released a bunch of albums, they should be a familiar name for many stoner metallers. For me personally it was a new experience, but this band is definitely worth keeping an eye on. If Flesh Throne Press is a level they can keep up, it will be hard for them to disappoint in the future.
