So, Andra featuring VII sins? let's see what's all about? as soon I pressed play I sadly discover the truth, is Power Metal, sadly? Why? Not because is Power Metal because is another band with the "VII" thing that plays Power Metal, anyway, this is not your typical wimp Power Metal, the guitar work here is very heavy and very riff driven, I like it!
Andra has the most peculiar voice, very potent, is not your average I-sing-like-the-operatic-angels nah, she put balls in their singing, if that is possible, as a matter of fact she reminds me of one of those black church ladies, a friend of mine listened a song and immediately asked me if the singer was black, but beware the "aggressive" voice can get annoying by moments, you are warned.
The 2 songs that opens the Cd are excellent "Bloody Lies" and "Love Change To Hate" are 2 killers, I really like the guitar work in this album! And as a plus, the songs have some male back-up vocals, almost grunted, really cool. Other track worth mentioning is "I Share Your Dreams", the rest.. too much fillers in one album, besides those ones two more songs deserve mentioning?
Number Six? a total surprise, "I Will Survive" yep, that song, transformed in one heavy piece of music, totally fun to listen, and well composed too, if you want to listen a heavy version of that classic song with nice riffin' and kick ass solos, go for it.
Number 7? "La Rosa Del Amor" that's Spanish for "The Rose Of Love" yep, Andra offers us a song completely sung in Spanish, as a native Spanish speaker I must say what a piece of?CRAP. Andra, darling, please learn to speak Spanish before performing those endeavors, it's an insult to hear someone singing ANY language with such a bad pronunciation, if you don't know squat of Spanish, I guess is an ok song, but sadly I know how to speak it, and my ears can't stand listening my beloved language mutilated just because this lady wanted to sing a song in other language.
Good riffing, great aggressive guitar work, nice vocals, some great songs, too much fillers one excellent cover song.. Hmm though one? I'll expect the next album to make my decision, until that time, Spanish lessons please!, as a matter of fact, e-mail me Andra, I'll help you out, and just because I'm one of those nice guys that do anything to help others
