Who says that all death metal bands sound the same and that most death metal bands don't have variation? Well these people obviously don't know much about death metal, but beside that, they probably also haven't heard this band: Resurrecturis.

Hailing from Italy, these death metallers combine many different styles into death metal creating something that I would call quite "easy-listening" death metal with both grunts and clean vocals. Brutality and anger is mixed together with "easy going" melodies creating some good variation and preventing the album from becoming boring and sounding monotonous.

Actually, I think that I can also hear some nu-metal influences in the music. Oh, did I mention the forbidden word "nu-metal"? The style that all trOO metalheads really hate and dislike? Well, yes I did, and yes I'm well aware that only this comment will scare away a lot of death metal fans, but the truth is; I don't even think that this album is anything for all the elitist death metal fans and most of them would probably quite dislike this album anyway. I think it requires a certain open mind ness to be able to like this album.

The production of the album is clear/good enough and the lyrics can be pretty interesting. In fact, the lyrics remind me a bit more of the lyrics that most Gothenburg metal bands have (Dark Tranquillity, In flames etc.). The biggest complain I can think of right now is probably the awful cover. I dislike the cover so much that I don't even like to hold the CD in my hand, I just put on the CD and then hide it somewhere so I cant see it. But well, that does in no way affect their music of course.

So for those metalheads who just want pure and clean death metal, then I warn you to stay away from this album, but to all others who are a bit more open-minded in their music tastes, I recommend you to check out this album.
