Even if the title of the album, "L'amour N'enlève Pas Vraiment La Dépression..." (Love doesn't really take depression away) is in French, Dryados actually comes from the land of Siberia in Russia. This young combo, probably influenced by the classical romantic French authors of the 19th century, plays a really good Symphonic and melancholic Black Metal. Fans of Anorexia Nervosa, I have something for you?

Yes, on a side, Dryados reminds me of a band like Anorexia Nervosa, with a powerful and aggressive Black Metal that is however full of emotions. The band says that they play melancholic and above all romantic Black Metal, I agree, their songs are really beautiful and as you can understand we're not really in front of the others heavy and "minimalist" Black Metal bands (that are not worst or bad, don't misunderstand me, but that I cannot compare evidently with a band like Dryados.) but no worries the album doesn't lack of power too.

"L'amour N'enlève Pas Vraiment La Dépression..." is classy because the album is really mature, this is the debut album of the band but really it's impressive to see how our two Russians musicians seem to be professional and experimented. It's hard to see a first album with such quality. However, I regret the fact that we don't have a real drummer on this album and only a machine. It's well programmed but it's always better to have real drums on a production and I hope that the band will have the luck to have a real drummer on their future production, because if the Beat-box doesn't kill the album, it remove some charms in the music.

We have some really good songs on this album like "The Most Beautiful Day They Ever Seen" and its opposition between the anger of the vocals of Roman and the excellent melancholic ambiance made by the keyboards of Dinara. A song like "Phantasm" will be at the opposite a bit more symphonic. As you can understand, we have variations in "L'amour N'enlève Pas Vraiment La Dépression...".

This first album is really promising and if you like Symphonic Black Metal this is a must really. Believe me, I recommend to all the fans of this music to have a look on this album they won't regret it. Dryados is a name that we will have to remember for the future?
