Now let's talk about Brutality; here we have a split CD with 2 really brutal bands beating their instruments rapidly and aggressively, let me warn you first, this Split is swamped in Goregrind and Brutal Death, so if you are not willing to take a shot of blood and guts just stop reading now and keep hearing your "Care Bear" metal? Now for the interested ones:

The Holocausto Canibal segment is astonishing; it actually surpasses the other side of the album by far. These Portuguese guys really know how to polish the Brutal genre, it's not the usual chaotic riffing with fast as diarrhea drum-beats, on the contrary these guys really have the skills to play each instrument, and those vocals are crushing (just hear "Empalamento" you'll be amazed). I'm actually overwhelmed with the results, I found myself playing over and over again their part of the split, so this time HC won the award indeed. If you are willing to hear one of the best Brutal Death Metal/Goregrind bands out there, you should really try this one, you won't regret I promise.

Then we have the Mixomatosis section, it is aggressive as hell, they even add some really good covers in it (Impetigo, Macabre and Blood). This sector of the split brings down the awesome atmosphere from the first segment, the musical accomplishments are a somehow rigid and the music doesn't flow quite well. On the other hand Mixomatosis is way more violent than Holocausto Canibal, their music is really ferocious and they even managed to add some mild parts of old school Grindcore (the Punky one). The vocal work of Mixomatosis is their best feature, the vocalist sounds like a huge monster puking blood while shrieking Grindcore tunes, quite amazing actually.

This Split CD is actually very good, and thanks to the "Holocausto Canibal" part it became awesome; I really recommend this record to anyone interested in Brutal music, you'll find here pure gold flooded with gore.

Best Tracks: The whole "Holocausto Canibal" part
