Removed review from list: Metal that exhibits such dynamic tonality that it no longer feels like metal is a rare gem. While the other instruments work in perfect symbiosis, the guitar spearheads the album. Crystalline and resonant, incisive and percussive, full-bodied and roaring - the guitar's timbre evolves and colours the EP's soundscape almost like a story. Despite clear virtuosic elements, the technicality is perfectly balanced within the songwriting, avoiding the contrived and feigned musicality that plagues most solo-guitarist records. Across the record, the artist achieves such climactic resolution that it sends chills down my spine and body, even during listens years down the line. This is owed to the enthralling song progressions, instilling complete captivation. Moments when the music gives way to spacious and delicate instrumentation are literally breath-taking. Such immersion and emotive intensity within such a short opus is almost disappointing, and its ending almost feels like loss. It is times like this when listening to albums of this calibre that I come to the bleak yet beautiful realisation that perfect art is ubiquitous yet hidden; cherish every discovery.
