This atmospheric haze of an iconic journey dawned the shift of metal pissing off the parents into pissing off the metal fans. That is one of many features alone that can't be taken away from this. Even after the light takes us.

No idea how people can think this is better than Filosofem. Even with the long ambient tracks that album dunks on this. Varg's vocals are terrible here.

Not sure I'd agree too but with an obviously less substantial margin. I fell for this one eventually after Fiosofem and for what felt natural but that's because I heard both together. I can't help but play one after the other whenever I get the chance to delve into my collection. With this one, it's lesser prolonging to get going however was one of the clearest that had an intro/outroduction presented. What made Filosofem perfect was the distinction to sound production from all of its outlets and its arguably lesser refined on Hvis, although both match the art used perfectly. Saying that the vocal performance is still memorable having 'its moments' that you just go with along the journey. With that said on top it is not an easy thing to make memorable vocal lines in extreme, or in this case, a style used so along with its other aspects this overall was extremely forward-thinking for its time. Filosofem took that new uncharted territory into many unequivocal places.

Sorry for not getting back sooner, however, I felt compelled your argument ran its course seeing as more important things in life we're meant to be done. Better to be remembered reigning in Hell, than to be forgotten serving in Heaven.

I listened to it some months ago. I remember liking "Dunkelheit". I'll listen to it again

I'm now a Burzum enjoyer. Filosofem is probably my favorite, but this one is definitely up there along with the first two albums.
