Despite the talent of each musician, the remashing of Priest songs is baffling. From musical quotations to stupid lyrics, it doesn't help forgetting how generic this album sounds.

"wE gOt OnE mOrE sHoT aT gLoRyyyyyy!" Uggh... end me now

Why does all of this sound like a bad parody of Judas Priest? Even if you call it a "tribute", it's embarrassing. Judas Priest were always about reinventing themselves, not shamelessly copying their past songs. And when they're not copying old songs, KK's Priest just play pretty lame songs with cringey lyrics.

Pretty average. I don't mind quoting or paying tribute to the original Priest, since every other metal band's been the same thing since their second album, but the songs should be better than this. On the other hand, I think Ripper sounds great here, he just doesn't have much to work with.

If you ignore all JP related things this album is a good/fun metal album, musically i enjoyed it, never cared about cheesy lyrics in metal anyways and lets face it what we expect from kk?

Better than their first imo. Might bump this up to an 8 at some point. Yes it’s very generic but it’s also very enjoyable.

Good album, good song writing e en originality is taken from other Birmingham band, but still killing piece. I like Owens here more as in his 2 JP albums.

Slightly better than the debut IMO. While the first half is quite poor the second half picks it up and songs like Hymn 66, Keeper Of The Graves and Pledge Your Souls are great tracks.

Not bad at all, predictable heavy/power if there was a complaint to be made, still quite enjoyable.

Killer album! K.K. Downing and Ripper Owens are on fire. I love every song. Amazing traditional heavy metal. Great riffs, guitar solos, melodies and vocals... and sounds enough like Priest.

I respect your opinion, but if this is a 10, then what is peak-Judas Priest for you? 14?

Obviously you DON'T respect my opinion. That's ok. Of course i love prime Judas Priest especially Painkiller, Screaming For Vengeance and Defenders of The Faith, but i also love Turbo, Jugulator, Demolition and both KK's Priest albums. All 10 for me.

Each to their own opinion of course but comparing this, Demolition and Jugulator to Painkiller is just insulting to Painkiller. But I do actually agree on Turbo even though it is one of their most loathed albums. It was the very first Judas Priest album I heard so it holds a special place for me and I do love that album. And "Hot For Love" has one of my favourite guitar solos of all time.

Painkiller is my favorite album of all time. I'm not comparing any of this albums man. Obviously they're very different. Judas Priest is my favorite band since 2001 and i'm just saying i love them all.
I don't like Nostradamus and Point Of Entry though.
And yeah that tasty 'Hot For Love' solo is fucking amazing.

It's quite an impressive effort imo better than I expected tbh. Even though the lyrics and songwriting may not be a high quality standard the performance is highly energetic and all-round terrific, and there's plenty of headbanging material here.

I think a 7 overall is fair here. I might go 6.75... but really not a bad album. Lyrics left a little to be desired at times. Some moments better than others for sure, but there were several really fun tracks on this!

Coming back to this after some time i find it really good, and gave it quite a few spins over the last days. was always a great Ripper fan, and if they would have written a good follow up to Painkiller back in the days, he would have performed damn well on it... even so i like Jugulator a lot. And live in london is one hell of a show !

Sure they pulling old themes but.............this album is badass. I've seen JP about 7 times over the years but IS is so overrated. Sure I love JP and Faulkner is amazing...yet at 72, KK Downing, A grandfather of Heavy Metal, is holding his right up there. The guitar structure really brings out some great stuff, fast, slow, and stedy. For people saying they are trying to sound like JP, what an ignorant thing to say. KK Downing will always be part of JP and was inducted into RandRHOF, Faulkner was not. When Ripper was with JP people didn't say he's trying to sound like RH, but now? This album is more Judas Priest sound than IS which is still carried by Faulkners' guitars, but though I love RH, a lot of overdubbing is used, which gets old quite quickly. I love all the JP family and I was pleasantly surprised by KK's Priest TSRA. Great album. If you didn't listen to the whole album your missing out.
