There’s a rush of excitement that comes with discovering a band right at the very early stages of their musical journey, and contemplating all the endless possibilities of where they could go next. Still, with that in mind, it’s worth recognizing that not all of said possibilities will align with one’s hopes or expectations.

Interesting, aside from 3 tracks this album seems mostly interludes and short songs, whereas all tracks on the previous album exceeded 8 minutes. Not that this is an issue of course, as each track gels into the other nicely, my problem is, I just don't particularly find this album as interesting as the previous one, it has a few quality moments but just lacks consistency overall.

Yeah, it's a major shift from the debut, and one that I can't find it in me to get on board with. I was so excited when I first discovered this band and how immense they were live, and then the debut was so good at what it did; it was concerning when I was so underwhelmed by them at Damnation last year, but that was a premonition for this record just not hitting the spot. I like a couple of the songs, but not sure there's a single one here I'd choose to listen to over any of the songs from the debut, bit of a shame really
