I heard this was Dan Swano's personal favorite Edge of Sanity album.

At 1:39:42 in this interview of Dan Swanö, he talks about his great plans for and experience with recording the song "Enigma" on this album. He had all of the band members sing the intro together and edit it in such a way that they sound like an enormous choir. However, he lost that recording and the only thing that was left (and which one hears) is Dan's guide vocals. Funnily enough, when he was singing that part ("sounding like a school boy") he not only sang it all in one breath, but while recording, his idol Leif Edling from Candlemass walks into the control room. Of all the times to walk in on the supposed death metal god, Leif saw how Dan was singing in this high-pitched voice  It turns out that this song became a big deal in the death metal scene at the time because it was practically the first time that clean vocals were on a death metal record.
