Just in case anyone forgotten, this was the best thrash record of 2009.
Absolute insane bangers. Not suitable for neck pain.

Vektor and Warbringer say otherwise.

No. Offbeat vocals ruined Vektor and Warbringer was only just a good album.

Wrong, but okay.
Face it dude this is not even close to being the best thrash album of 09. Not when albums released that same year from the likes of Tenet, Cautiva, Skeletonwitch, Children, Warbringer, Vektor, etc. were all way better. This isn’t a bad album but it can’t stand up to any of those.

None of them came closer to Sacrifice. I can go on the record and say 2009 wasn't a good year for thrash as compare to 2010 and 2011 which reaches to the peak for thrash revivalist releases.

...And saying that despite my evidence to the contrary would make you wrong about that as well.

It was a stale year for Thrash.

Now wether "The Ones I Condemn" is the best thrash album of 2009 is entirely subjective and I don't really care about that debate. I personally don't think it is but it hardly matters, I'm however much more interested in the claims that followed. I 100% disagree with the statement that 2009 was a stale year for thrash metal. Oh how I beg to differ...
For starters we got stellar debut releases from Havok & Vektor, two bands who arguably reshaped the state of modern thrash at the time. One can claim to not like "Black Future" but no one can deny its quality, success and the influence it had on the current thrash scene (or tech/prog in general for that matter). Right there it should be enough to disprove that claim but allow me to go much, much further and erase any possible doubts.
Suicidal Angels, Blood Tsunami, Warbringer, Gama Bomb & Skeletonwitch put out 5 releases that are all in my opinion (and I'm probably not the only one thinking it) their best in career so far. I'm especially fond of "Breathing The Fire" which is my absolute favourite by the band, a record with bangers like "Submit To The Suffering", "Released From The Catacombs" and "The Despoiler Of Human Life". Now, on top of that we got an amazing follow-up to "Infernal Maze" which came as Witheria's "Painful Escape". A band that doesn't seem to relate to the word disappointment.
Then we somehow got slapped in the face by 2 absolute surprise bangers that no one saw coming. One from a one-man band in the form of Cautiva's "Human" and the other released by Children. Both pushing the boundaries of prog-thrash at the time. It's unfortunate though that those would be their last releases.
At the same time, established bands were releasing other great thrash LPs that were maybe not classics per se but certainly not bad or stale albums, far from it: Municipal Waste's "Massive Aggressive", Kreator's "Hordes Of Chaos", Bulldozer's "Unexpected Fate", Heathen's "The Evolution Of Chaos", Absu's "Absu", Sacrifice's "The Ones I Condemn", Artillery's "When Death Comes" and many more...
So I could obviously go on and on about this but it goes to show we have very different takes on "stale". As far as I'm concerned, 2009 was far removed from the word and proved to be a brilliant year for thrash metal in general. I'd even dare say, one that propelled the revivalist movement ever higher.

Even compare to subsequent years 2010 or 2011?!
I don't think so.
Granted MW, and you quoted smatter of bands releases alongside were fantastic, but would that bunch can be considered for thrash year...the best?!
Thrash in 2009 didn't had a sparkling releases what followed in 2010 and 2011, and Sacrifice was the closest I came to judge as the best thrash release of the year 2009.

I'm not saying 2010 and especially 2011 weren't influential or that 2009 is the best year in Modern Thrash. I'm merely saying that it wasn't a bad or stale year for the genre, very far from it. As for the statement that it didn't have "sparkling releases" compared to subsequent years, again I disagree for the same reasons that I already stated. Some of my all time favourite releases are from 2009.
Again, I'm not comparing those three years, that would be a different topic. I'm just giving 2009 the respect it deserved for being a great thrash year, no an amazing one!
