Darkseed is but one of many bands I discovered as a result of the 2010 Metal Storm Awards. After listening to Poison Awaits, I immediately downloaded it. It took me a while to get into the album, but it grew on me with three or four spins. After three dozen, I decided to pursue more Darkseed, starting with Ultimate Darkness.

It seems to me the most complete album with a few filters (I would say only tracks 3,8,9,11) and the rest of it is like "hits". Although, it does not make it memorable enough to be considered their best album.

You will definitely spin it a lot if you like this kind of catchy gothic.

...and you will only spin it once if you dislike this kind of Gothic.
For me this was a huge letdown to everything else they have done earlier, and in fact their death for me.
Man, how have I adored Spellcraft back when it was released.
Only some 6 or 7 years ago I checked their last two albums.... pfffeew... what a difference!
