Whoa, Bal-Sagoth called, they said they wanted their ultra-long, pompous album title back. I mean Time Is The Sulphur In The Veins Of The Saint: An Excursion On Satan's Fragmenting Principle ? Imagine them playing live with the crowd chanting: "We want something from Time Is The Sulphur In The Veins Of The Saint: An Excursion On Satan's Fragmenting Principle " over and over. Why am I so hung up on something as meaningless as the title? Because the music itself is very much like the title: way too long and just fucked up.

Weirdo black metal. Works at some points during the songs, but most of it is total weirdness.

This is just lol

Their psuedo-evilness is laughably bad, as is their music.

I originally rated this 3/10, but after coming back to it (yet again) I found there was more to like. That being said, it has some pretty awful moments...

Got Mayhem?
I wanted this album to be great because of the title, which I admired. But I'm listening to it right now and even though it has great, creepy moments it manages to ruin them with some pretty silly stuff. Love-hate relationship going on here for sure...

This band started to suck real bad after Silenius left.
Not that it has ever been great but it wasn't so godawful when Silenius was there.

I don't even dare to check this album, considering how horrendous their last ones were.

Pretty pointless release. They should disband. Their days of greatness are long behind them.

Ok... I MUST hear this now. (Because of the intriguing disparity in ratings)

Got Mayhem?
Gave it another listen, it sounds like Abigor wanted to be Mayhem's Ordo Ad Chao with a dash of post-Shaxul DSO soooooo badly.

Ugh. They should have stopped after Nachthymnen. Those were the golden days of Abigor... This is just hot garbage.

Bands like this are a perfect example of terrible aging.

Ordo Ad Chao? I would say more "Grand Declaration Of War".

If we have to compare Abigor with Mayhem ( ) then ya I guess I'd say Grand Declaration fetches a better comparison.

Yeah, I wouldn't compare them either but you get my point.
The album ain't that bad... It's not really good or anything but still... 6-7 material. There are some meh moments but some passages are really good imo. The album lacked focus, that's all.

I think it's too... I don't know the word. It just seems dysfunctional, like it has these ideas it wants to execute but none of them work together. I give credit to those who worship this release though. My ears aren't that trained.

People who worship this release are probably a bit bonkers, just like the album.

Underrated, it still has evil riffs but also with an evil yet confusing atmosphere. It works well as avant-garde black metal, but despite the good instrumentation it's just a little too chaotic for me.
