It is definitely US power metal at it's finest! I've never heard Brian Allen sing before, but he is an awesome find. His vocals on this album are really great. And he had some huge boots to fill, after the legendary James Rivera, and of course, the legacy of Carl Albert. But he does a fine job.

There are some really amazing tracks on the album, like the storming "Murderball", and the wonderful creeping melodies of "Black". And "Rite Of Devastation" completely blew me away, with it's intensity and immense riffs! xD These guys were always horribly underrated, as when they're on top form, they are among the elite of metal bands.

Quite puzzled with this album, this is not power metal at all... rather boring metal, I think I'm fine with if they wanna try something different musically and different song writing ? but in this case I think the band failed to produce something that's interesting. IMO this album just doesn't sound like much VR at all (except "Razorback Blade")
