Leaving behind the limitations of our mind, our physical form, and our existence has rarely felt so sorrowful, so conflicted, and yet so hopeful and inspiring. Enshine have returned with a more decisive release this time around, replete with perfected arrangements, lyrical ideas that leave the listener in a dreamlike state of existential thoughts, and an atmosphere that presses upon one's heart like a cold sun drifting endlessly upward into the infinite stars of possibilities.

Can't recall Origin sounding this flat, in terms of songwriting...

On first listen it's quite disappointing, not bad, just no 'wow' moments for me. The songs are too similar to one another and I often felt like I was listening to the same song 9 times. Perhaps it'll grow on me, or perhaps I've just lost interest in Jari's style of music... I hope it's the former.

Nowhere near as good as Origin. Every song seems to be recycled chunks from their debut, unfortunately.

The atmosphere of the album is close to what was produced by Be'lakor or Barren Earth (in the first album). Enjoy it !

Not really. Even though all three bands are at least sort of melodeath-y, I find them a bit closer to latest albums from In Mourning and Ghost Brigade.

One word: bland.

Just like Enshine's previous album.

Just like Enshine's previous album.

Going to have to have to revisit that album because, frankly, I can't remember much. Even the 7/10 I rated it might be giving it too much credit.

Give it eevn more time? I've had it since September 28 and spun it way too many times (must be close to twenty times now) for my liking. Thank God that as of today I don't have to spin this total uninspired blandness anymore.

Why would you do that to yourself? Once was enough for me...

Once would indeed have been enough had I voluntarily listened to it. But in my case I was given it to say something about it.

That's why I've had the album for almost a month already.

Depends on my mood. Sometimes I review it in English first and then translate it into Dutch, but most of the times I review in Dutch and then translate into English.

It must be frustrating to translate expressions/idioms/sayings/whatever from one language to another.

Oh yeah it absolutely is. That was the hardest thing together with jokes to translate during my previous job as a subtitle translator.

Jari Lindholm's works are all rated so highly here, but Exgenesis (which I think is far superior to this) is not even featured.

I really liked the first 2 tracks, but i do feel like the music became boring by the end. I have really enjoyed all of Jari Lindholm's work but this is his weakest.

For whatever reason people feel the need to endlessly bash albums they don't enjoy. If you didn't like the previous one and don't enjoy this one, why do you spend time discussing it other than just stroking each others egos? Seems somewhat sad. It's music - everyone has a personal taste and preferance, state yours if you feel the need and move on.

Personally I look for atmosphere in my metal, this album delivered in abundance, and I for one find it a little superior to the predecessor after a few listens... Album of the year so far for me, "Dreamtide" - standout track.

I see no bashing here - only opinions. I, for one, thought there was potential in their last release and was hoping for more in this one. Then I made my comment after listening. I'm pretty sure that's what everyone has done here. The whole point of commenting is to share. For instance, I occasionally read comments from users with similar tastes to see if I should bother with an album. Even if someone didn't like one album, doesn't necessarily mean they'll not enjoy the next. I think it's nice to hear from people regardless of their opinion - gives you insight into how people perceive music.

Discovered the debut lately. While it's nothing extraordinary, I thought it was a pleasant listen, so now starting listening to this one to see, if it's equally enjoyable.

Here's an adult comment, solid opinion with a few good points, nothing I disagree with. Then there's a comment below

Resurgence was my favourite track, none of the other tracks stood out for me but there were some interesting parts and I thought it was an okay album. I can't say Doom is my favourite style of metal or that I have found an album I love in the style of Doom yet that i'd consider outstanding, but looking to expand my horizons with this genre and try something a bit different.
