I think I'll wait until The Shadow Self for a more complete impression. I don't want this to be Tarja's "Hydra" lol.

It's kinda sad to see someone like Tarja wasting her talent on albums like this. The only song that's worth some attention is the one with Mr. Monroe (Your Heaven And Your Hell), the rest of the album can't even hit the mediocre level. This album is a huge disappointment. I think it's time for Tarja to re-consider the rock/metal side of her career. She needs a new team with new ideas, some good song writers, and a team with a concept around her. She has an amazing voice and she'd be capable of way more than this.

Funny a prequel album in which the only enjoyable songs are from the past releases (An Empty Dream, Witch Hunt & Paradise), the only "newness" left is Eagle Eye. If she and her team tuned the heavy elements down and threw in more melodic sounds it could have been a much better creation.

The Brightest Void is not the best album, but doesn't deserve such a low note!...

The album is pathetic. She can't write music ( or she should change her composer ), that's it.

I like it! Well, I like about half of it. No Bitter End is a weak and generic opener, which sets a terrible mood for the rest. But several songs are real gems. I hope their quality carries through to the full-length.
