"Choir of the Damned" is extended on the CD version (the running time listed is this version). The version on the LP is about a minute shorter and is missing the harmonised prelude from the CD version.

Reissues have the Flag of Hate EP as bonus tracks, mostly the three song version. The six track version is less common.

There is also a picture disc version of this album, called After the Attack with the new title track as song 10.

Don't tell me you haven't listened to Kreator before. We all know this amazing thrash metal band. For many, they are the greatest German thrash metal band, when many others believe they are the best trash metal band ever. But if we take a look on their past albums, we can see they are one of the first bands (along with others, such as Possesed, Venom, etc) who played that thrash/death style which helped so much in the pioneering of death metal. Pleasure To Kill was their trademark album in that period before they turned into a pure thrash metal style. This album was a great influence for many future thrash and death metal bands.

Best Kreator album by miles. Nothing by else by Kreator comes close to this. Only fags will rate this less than 9, this rips out all pussiness from your very being, kicks you in the ass, sodomizes you and yet you still have no choice but to praise it.

You are not metal enough until you visit Kenya. The cradle of mankind, where man learnt first to work with stones and first enjoyed the sounds produced by banging stones which later influenced metal in all its sounds and genres.

Another album that's a pleasure to get back to, this album and Terrible Certainty kicked my teenager ass, long time ago, don't ask me when...

I've been listening to this album for about 15 years and only now I decide to follow along with the lyric book due to the near undecipherable lyrics and super thick Teutonic accent. Yeah I'm slow but it was always a choice between air drumming and reading! I'm glad I finally did at it made me appreciate the lyrical subject matter & not just the 56 minutes of aural pleasurable musical assault.

Easily their best album. Mille and the boys have done much more refined stuff over the years, but they have never captured the overly ecstatic chaotic nature of this beast of an album. I'd say it was a smart move to try something else to begin with, since very few thrash bands have ever managed to top this. Pleasure to Kill is pleasure to listen to.

Fast and extreme approach. While you hardly can go wrong with thrash in '86 and while this is better than most of the albums from this time period, it sounds a bit too familiar especially when compared to other teutonic bands. It does kill quite a lot like the title suggests but lacks character that the best thrash records have/had.

I disagree here, I don't know why I feel like mentioning it.
What other German thrash bands released better albums in 1986? I can't think of any. (Sodom and Destruction did not, Tankard's debut did not, and these are the famous ones).
Lacks character? Really? This statement just made me sad.
Pleasure to Kill is one of the best thrash records. (well, at least to me)

For me it's hard to say whether it's the best German thrash in ‘86, I didn't write that it isn't. I’ll check if I’ll find some album that I prefer and edit later.

I kind of prefer later Kreator tbh. On the early releases, to me, they sound like most other German thrash with focus on playing fast, aggressive and having this kind of chaotic musicianship, but on later albums they have distinct vocals and guitar playing and hence they sound different than other bands. If I gave an impression that the album is not really good, well it is really good in the style they were playing. The reason I don’t give it 9 or 10 is more about lacking the character. But in short: just a differing opinion.

I believe Kreator were the first to play this kind of fast thrash. Their debut is even more chaotic than Pleasure to Kill.
People also seem to forget how young Mille and the band were when they made this music in 1986. I bow my head in respect even more.
