Goblins Blade was founded in 2018 by Jörg M. Knittel. He was also a founding member of Sacred Steel in 1996, recording 5 studio and 1 live album and playing several european tours and festivals. In 2006 he reached a point where he was lacking the inspiration for more Power Metal songs and decided to take a break and quit Sacred Steel. Afterwards he concentrated on his other bands Dawn Of Winter and My Darkest Hate.

Over the last years, he has come up with more and more new ideas for thrilling Power Metal riffs. The inspiration and passion was back, so he finally decided to start Goblins Blade. He found his band members in former Destillery vocalist Florian Reimann, Claudio Sisto, ex-Mystic Prophecy on drums and Roberto Palacios, ex- Chinchilla on bass.

Musically Goblins Blade is inspired by classic Power Metal bands like Metal Church, Omen, Savage Grace or Judas Priest.

At the beginning of 2019, a 3-song EP called 'Awakening' was recorded at EarMaster Studio Stuttgart under the direction of Wolf Nillies and released on its own as a digipak. The whole thing was strictly limited to 100 copies. In May 2019, the EP was offered on the band's Facebook page and the response to it was overwhelming. Within days, all CD's were sold and demand increased daily. Also the reviews in all relevant magazines were sensational, so the band was "Newcomer of the Month" in the Rock Hard magazine and in Deaf Forever there were 9 out of 10 points!

Shortly thereafter, first record labels showed interest to sign the band. Goblins Blade ultimately chose Massacre Records, which offered the best overall package, and immediately made the band feel like they're really hot for Goblins Blade.

At the of 2019 Claudio Enzler was hired as a second guitarist and in January 2020 the recordings for the debut album 'Of Angels And Snakes' began, which will be released on June 26, 2020 as Digipak and Gatefold vinyl. Be prepared!
