Unearthly Trance - Announce Reunion

New York experimental doom/sludgers Unearthly Trance have announced via their Facebook page recently that they're back together. Two local shows have been booked on July 17th at The Acheron in Brooklyn and July 21st with Primitive Man at Sinclairs in Long Island. Some more shows are in the works for the North East dates in August as well as a soon to be announced festival in California. The band also announced that they've also begun work on what will be their sixth full length album.

Earthship - Guitarist Injured, Band To Continue Tour

Sludge metal band Earthship is currently touring in Europe in support of their latest album Withered. Unfortunately, they will have to continue the tour as a three-piece because their guitarist Marcel Schulz injured himself in the knee in a show in Hungary. The band is still playing a few shows in Germany, France and The Netherlands.

Barren Earth - Stream New Track, Reveal New Album Details

After joining Century Media Records, the Finns Barren Earth have now shared the first track from their new record. The progressive death metal outfit, now reinforced by Faroese native lead singer Jón Aldará, launched the title track of their upcoming third full-length. The album will be entitled On Lonely Towers and will be released on March 30th, 2015 in Europe and March 24th in North America. Barren Earth - Join Century Media, New Album This Year

Good news for Barren Earth fans today. The progressive death metallers have a new label home: Century Media Records. More importantly, Barren Earth recently finished the recordings for their third studio album which is scheduled to be released in early 2015. More details on that will be released shortly. Unearth - Debut New Track, Album Details Unveiled

Unearth also premiered new music today. While the metalcore outfit hasn't released a new album since 2011 Darkness In The Light, they are now gearing up to release Watchers Of Rule. Iced Earth - Jon Schaffer Issues Health Update

A few months ago, Iced Earth's mastermind and guitarist Jon Schaffer announced that he would undergo neck surgery again and the band had to cancel a few tour dates. Now, he has updated on his health after the surgery and he seems to be healing well. The band is already planning their next U.S. tour.

Iced Earth - Jon Schaffer To Undergo Neck Surgery, Cancel Shows

Unfortunately, Iced Earth will have to cancel this summer's festivals and headline shows. The group's mastermind and guitarist Jon Schaffer will undergo neck surgery again, for a problem he has sustained for quite some time. He was advised to do the surgery as fast as possible. Hopefully, Schaffer can have a full recovery.

Earth - New Album In September, New Tour Dates

Drone doom metallers Earth have announced their full August European tour dates and also confirmed that they will be previewing songs from their next record to be titled Primitive And Deadly. The output is coming out worldwide this September on Southern Lord Recordings (with a final street date to be announced shortly). This new studio album follows Angels Of Darkness, Demons Of Light II. Barren Earth - To Enter Studio

Beneath the burden of their fans' anticipation with regards to the new vocalist, Barren Earth plans to enter the studio in March to partially record the follow-up to their 2012 release, The Devil's Resolve. Due to keyboardist Kasper Mårtenson's schedule conflicts, they will return to the studio to finish off the album later in the year. Jón Aldará, who stepped in for renowned Swallow The Sun frontman Mikko Kotamäki, hails from Faroe Islands doom metal band Hamferð. You can read up on the subject over here and here.

Barren Earth - New Vocalist Announced

Following the departure of Mikko Kotamäki due to conflicting schedules a few months ago, Barren Earth had been looking for a new singer while working on new material, which has been described as "mournful, winding, hopeful, ambitious and rugged". They've just announced that Jón Aldará, Hamferð's vocalist, will join them as the new lead vocalist. He will take part in Barren Earth's third full-length album which the group plans to start recording during the spring of 2014.
