Metallica - Release Preview Of 'This Monster Lives'

Recently, Metallica announced the re-release of the film Some Kind Of Monster, which is set for November 24th on Blackened Recordings. This two-disc Blu-ray and DVD sets include Metallica: This Monster Lives, a 25-minute follow-up piece. Well, now you can watch a clip of that right here where the band looks back at Some Kind Of Monster after so many years. James Hetfield and Lars Ulrich think it helped the band.

Metallica - Deluxe Editions Of First Two Albums Coming

Metallica is seeking help from their fans while preparing remastered, deluxe editions of their first two classic albums, 1983's Kill 'Em All and 1984's Ride The Lightning, which they hope to put out in 2015. Anyone who has photos of the group and memorabilia or audio of concerts Metallica played around that time is being asked to submit them for possible inclusion in the reissues.

Metallica - Closing BlizzCon 2014

Metallica will be closing this year's BlizzCon at the convention center. That's an annual gathering of gaming communities around the globe who are part of the surrounding Blizzard Entertainment's games Warcraft, Diablo, and StarCraft and which is taking place in Anaheim, California this November. Tickets to the convention are sold out but you can still watch their performance live the night of November 8th online.

Metallica - Re-Releasing 'Some Kind Of Monster' For 10th Anniversary

You might remember that Metallica released the film Some Kind Of Monster years ago featuring exclusive behind-the-scenes as they confronted personal demons and their relationships with each other while recording their album St. Anger. That included a conversation with former guitarist Dave Mustaine (Megadeth). Now the band is re-releasing Some Kind Of Monster on November 24th, 2014 in two-disc Blu-ray and DVD sets that include Metallica: This Monster Lives, a 25-minute follow-up piece, and it will also be available digitally and via Video On Demand.

Metallica - Continue Work On New Album, To Release Live Albums On CD

After a 3D movie called Metallica Through The Never, a new Guinness World Record from last year for being the first band to play all seven continents in one year, it's maybe finally time for Metallica to finish that new record as well. Six years have passed since they released the latest full-length album Death Magnetic. At the beginning of this year, Metallica confirmed that they should to start working on new album this year. In a recent interview, bassist Robert Trujillo says work continues on the follow-up to Death Magnetic.

Metallica - Tribute To Ronnie James Dio Streaming Online

As previously reported, the Ronnie James Dio tribute This Is Your Life will be released on April 1st and today you get to hear Metallica's contribution to the release. The nine-minute medley of four tracks titled "Ronnie Rising" and performed by Metallica features riffs from "A Light In The Black," "Tarot Woman," "Stargazer," and "Kill The King." Metallica - Confirmed For Heavy Montréal, Free Download Of '86 Show

Metallica have some news for us today. First of all, the band is bringing "Metallica By Request" north in August to play the Heavy Montréal festival. The line-up for the 6th edition of the Canadian festival has been unveiled. Besides Metallica, the fest will bring to Montreal the likes of Lamb Of God, Slayer, Bad Religion, Anthrax, Exodus, Apocalyptica, Epica, Hatebreed, Alestorm, Symphony X, Cynic, Municipal Waste, Overkill, and many more.

Metallica - Win Award For Best 3D Documentary

Recently, guitarist Kirk Hammett admitted he was disappointed that Metallica Through The Never didn't do better, but Metallica's IMAX 3D concert film won the Best 3D Documentary award at the International 3D & Advanced Imaging Society's fifth annual Creative Arts Awards. Lars Ulrich and Robert Trujillo were in attendance to receive the award.

Metallica - Performing At Grammy Awards With Pianist Lang Lang

Metallica have been invited to perform at the 56th Annual Grammy Awards on January 26th. The group's Through The Never soundtrack is nominated for Best Recording Package and Metallica will be performing with Chinese pianist Lang Lang. They promise this will be a special performance. The Americans haven't performed in the Grammy Awards since 1992.

Metallica - Share Full Antarctica Concert In HD

Remember when Metallica announced that they would be playing a show in Antarctica? Now the band has shared footage of the entire concert where they played for a small group of fans and you can watch the whole thing in HD below. On December 8th, 2013, the band set a world record by becoming the first and only band in history to perform concerts on all seven continents in under a year. Unfortunately, they didn't play "Trapped Under Ice". A missed opportunity.

Sonisphere UK 2014 - Metallica And Iron Maiden Headlining

After being cancelled in 2012 and taking a year off in 2013, the Sonisphere festival will return to the UK next year and Iron Maiden and Metallica will make history when they co-headline the Sonisphere Festival in Knebworth, the very first time both bands have appeared together on a British bill, and the only concerts either band will play in the UK in 2014.
