Nachtmystium - New Album Details Revealed

US Black metal band Nachtmystium have revealed more details about their upcoming album. The new full-length, which will be entilted Addicts: Black Meddle Pt. II, is set for a release on June 8th via Century Media. The disc was recorded once again with Sanford Parker (Minsk) at Volume Studios. The band has enlisted the talents of Wrest (Leviathan, Lurker Of Chalice, Twilight) to record all drum tracks as well as Will Lindsay (Wolves In The Throne Room, Middian) on bass for this new album.

There will also be a limited edition, double gatefold vinyl featuring the bonus track "Macrocosmic" and an iTunes exclusive bonus track featuring "Every Last Drop" remixed by James Plotkin (Khanate, Phantomsmasher). Artwork was done by Jimmy Hubbard and Seldon Hunt and the album features guest vocals by Bruce Lamont (Yakuza) and guitar solos by Russ Strahan (Pentagram) and Matt Johnson (Pharoh).

Blake Judd further describes his excitement over this upcoming album: "Our love for post rock and industrial (a la Ministry, Killing Joke, etc) is even more present this time around. We feel that we made a record that will continue to push extreme music into uncharted territories. We hope to see you all soon."

Locrian - New Album To Feature Yakuza, Nachtmystium Guest Appearances

Locrian have completed their new collaborative studio album, entitled Territories. The album was recorded in January 2009 at Phantom Manor Studios in Chicago, IL and features numerous collaborators including Andrew Scherer (Velnias), Mark Solotroff (Bloodyminded), Bruce Lamont (Yakuza), and Blake Judd (Nachtmystium). The album will also be a collaboration between four labels from three countries: At War With False Noise (UK), Basses Frequences (France), Bloodlust! (USA), and Small Doses (USA). Territories is Locrian's second studio album and is slated for a March 1st release.

Territories cover art] tracklist:

01. Inverted Ruins
02. Between Barrows
03. Procession of Ancestral Brutalism
04. Ring Road
05. Antediluvian Territory
06. The Columnless Arcade

A press release reads as follows: André Foisy and Terence Hannum have spent the last several years honing the Locrian sound. They've taken elements from noise, power electronics, drone, and black metal to come up with a truly unique sound reflecting the sprawling urban decay surrounding them in Chicago. After nearly two dozen releases, they've found themselves in the world of Territories. For this release, Locrian has pulled out all the stops and fleshed out the band with the help of Mark Solotroff (Bloodyminded, Anatomy Of Habit) on vocals and synthesizers, Blake Judd (Nachtmystium) on guitar, Bruce Lamont (Yakuza) on saxophone and vocals, and Andrew Scherer (Velnias) on drums. The results of this massive collaborative effort are apparent from the moment the album starts. The textures run darker and deeper; the vocals - sometimes three layers deep - seem to be conjured from the decrepit muck of a failed civilization; the feedback takes on a more pronounced presence; and the big band allows for full-on black metal assaults that burst out of the tortured drones Locrian have come to be known for. Truly a case of the whole being greater than the sum of the parts, Territories may well be the most fully realized form of Locrian's dystopic vision.

Nachtmystium - To Release New Album Next Year

Nachtmystium are currently in pre-production mode for their next album. Recording for the new record will begin in early January and a spring release via Century Media Records is expected.

Band mastermind Blake Judd comments: "We're currently working on material for Black Meddle Part II (official title TBA) and will be doing a demoing pre-production session with Sanford Parker in October. The new material is reminiscent of Assassins with more of a rock and roll edge over all. Our love for post rock and industrial (ala Ministry, Killing Joke, etc.) is even more present this time around. We're hoping to make a record that will continue to push extreme music into uncharted territories."
