UPDATE: Abinchova can now reveal that the new material that they are working on is a 7" vinyl single scheduled for release this fall. The band posted the following about the release: "The 7" vinyl single is expected to be released in fall 2012 and will be named Handgeschrieben (Handwritten). It'll be a limited hand numbered release and there will also be some extra stuff included in the package. For everyone who doesn't own a record player: don't worry! A download code for the MP3 versions of both songs will be included."

Children Of Bodom's frontman Alexi Laiho checked into the hospital with severe stomach pain last week, which later turned out to be a serious infection, forcing the band to cancel a few dates this past weekend. Earlier this morning, the band checked in with an update, and Alexi will be leaving the hospital tomorrow (July 12th) and will be back on stage this Sunday to play at Ilosaarirock in Finland.

UPDATE: After cancelling their shows in Oslo and Malmö, Children Of Bodom were now forced to cancel their appearance at the Ruisrock Festival in Finland as well. Amorphis will replace them.

The band released the following statement: "This is not an easy letter for us to write. Alexi is suffering from a serious infection. He is still in hospital in Oslo under supervision of the doctors and we don't know yet when they will release him."

Pure Steel Records has issued the following announcement about the new album from US power metal band being postponed: "We regret to inform you that the new Omen album Hammer Damage release is postponed again. The hurricane damage to Kenny Powell's house was larger than first thought, so problems in the completion of mixing and mastering could not be avoided. We were hoping to finally being able to realize a release at the specified date - it was not to be."
