Quo Vadis - Touring Line-Up Revealed, New Bass Player Named

Original news, posted on 08.10.2008

Quo Vadis have announced the addition of vocalist Trevor Birnie (Damascus, Annex Theory) for the band's upcoming dates in October and November.

"I've toured Canada twice and I am eager to get back on the road especially with Canadian metal titans Quo Vadis," Birnie said in a statement. "I've grown as a vocalist, lyricist and performer over the past 5-6 years in bands and I feel that my experience and growth would definitely evolve with an opportunity of such honor."

Martyr drummer Patrice Hamelin, who has previously done session work with Despised Icon and Senate, will join Quo Vadis on tour and in studio. The announcement was the first in a series of lineup changes for Quo Vadis after the band's September 6 show in Montreal with Despised Icon, Neuraxis, Blinded By Faith and The Plasmarifle.

Upcoming Quo Vadis shows:

Oct. 23 - St-Hyacinthe, QC - Le Thrash
Oct. 24 - Rimouski, QC - La Coudée
Oct. 25 - Jonquière, QC - Place Nikitoutagan
Oct. 26 - Québec, QC - l'Anti
Oct. 27 - Ottawa, ON - Rainbow
Oct. 28 - Toronto, ON - The Kathedral
Oct. 29 - Hamilton, ON - The Casbah
Oct. 30 - Oshawa, ON - E.P. Taylor's

Nov. 02 - Drummondville, QC - La Piaule

UPDATE (thanks to ArtiA)

Quo Vadis have also announced the addition of bassist Roxanne Constantin (Negativa, Rostrum, Aven Aura) to the group's ranks.

Roxanne has a B.A. in piano performance from the Montreal Conservatory of Music. Prior to taking the bassist position, she contributed keyboards and vocals to the band as well as help with choirs and different live shows. In the months leading up to the shows, Roxanne underwent a strenuous practice regimen of up to 10 hours a day dedicated to music.

"She is one of the best musicians Quo Vadis has ever had the opportunity to work with. Roxanne has also been strongly involved supporting the band since 2002 so it was a natural fit," says Quo Vadis guitarist Bart Frydryhowicz.

Quo Vadis - The End Of An Era

Vocalist Stéphane Paré, drummer Yanic Bercier and bassist Dominic "Forest" Lapointe have announced their departure from Quo Vadis.

''As of today, July 13th, we are officially leaving the band for various reasons. As for the shows that are already booked, we are still going to perform as agreed, on a professional basis.

This decision is the hardest for drummer Yanic Bercier as he has been in the band since day one, 15 years ago. As for vocalist Stéphane Paré, he was in the band for more than 5 1/2 years.

Quo Vadis Details on new album

"Hi everyone,

We are happy to announce further details of the next Quo Vadis record. First of all the title of the album is "Defiant Imagination". You may have heard rumors of the title being "To The Bitter End", however, we felt that the artwork that was chosen for this album, featured on top of the page, embodied the sound and feel of the record perfectly. It also fit with our secondary choice of title "Defiant Imagination". Great thanks to the artist (Skydancer) who has granted us the rights to use this amazing image. The album should be available in stores in Canada by early November via Fusion3/Skyscraper. Below is the track listing:

1. Silence Calls The Storm

2. In Contempt

3. Break The Cycle

4. Tunnel Effect

5. To The Bitter End

6. In Articulo Mortis

7. Fate's Descent

8. Dead Man's Diary

9. Ego Intuo et Servo Te

Finally we will be shooting a video for "In Contempt" starting the morning of Saturday September 18 before our show in Greenfield Park at another location. We will then rush to the show, and continue shooting on Sunday morning! The video should be available in conjunction with the album release. Hopefully we'll be able to post some screen shots for you soon.

Stay tuned for more details."
