US mythological occult metallers Absu will embark on a mini-tour in Australia, dubbed The Connexus Conjuration Tour, taking off in mid-January next year. Dates can be seen after the jump.

Support on the trek comes off Australia's experimental black/death metallers Portal and black metallers Ruins.

Finnish Metal Expo, which will take place between February 17th and 18th, 2012, has announced its first bands. German power metal band Edguy, who released their new album Age Of The Joker recently, will be headlining the first day of the festival. For the same day are confirmed ICS Vortex from Norway and Finnish death/doom metal band Swallow The Sun. Finnish heavy metal band Stam1na, who will release their new album and do this concert as a part of their record release tour, will perform on Saturday. US metallers God Forbid will enter the studio at the end of October to begin recording their new album for an early 2012 release via Victory Records.

The bulk of the production on the CD will be handled by Mark Lewis (The Black Dahlia Murder, Whitechapel, DevilDriver, Trivium), with Jason Suecof (Trivium, All That Remains, The Black Dahlia Murder, Chimaira, DevilDriver) stepping in during the the vocal-tracking stage. The album will be mixed at Fascination Street studios in Örebro, Sweden with Jens Bogren, who has previously worked with such acts as Katatonia, Opeth, Paradise Lost and Amon Amarth.
